Totally agree with the last post.

This was a spot on boozer and one of few in the area that was cheap, friendly and ALWAYS full. Make me wonder why they close popular places like this down for the cr*ppy lounge bars and gastro sh*t holes that are cropping up everywhere.

Had many a good afternoon in there. Sadly wont be doing so again :O(

was a great "boozer" for years, cheap beer, pretty barmaids, some good mates were regulars, more or less sawdust on the floor.Mondays was pint of carlsberg for 99p..happy dayzz hick!
Then one day it was sold off, bought and turned into some strange vegas lounge bar with leapord skin seats,a chandalier and beer at 3.20p a pint.It has no atmosphere anymore, progress? nope I think not,its just a big pity.

Shame this place appears to have closed. Have enjoyed myself in here, comparatively cheap beer given the area, friendly barmaids and a laid back atmosphere. If it has gone it's a shame.

Great Place to start a night out

very cheap drinks - 1.90 Carlsberg, 2 Fosters

Beer is nothing to right home about but its cheap and a nice cosy warm pub. It is usually relativley busy with tourists and students. A nice quiet pub with tvs for football

Few drinks after work last night proved very pleasant in this place. Had one of the best pints of London Pride ever, although the mates I was with said that the Fosters could have been better. As is the common view, the best thing about this place is the prices. Friendly atmosphere and smiles of the bar staff give it that extra shine.

cheap like the budgie and handy for watching the last few minutes of footy after the premiere of Star Wars - happy hour is actually really quite a happy occasion for your wallet

I'm a student and can't afford to pay 2.70 for a pint, so when I was told about this place I became a regular. I mean it's 2 for Fosters, all these other pubs must be ripping us off!!

It's cheap, but lager was a bit ropey and pub is nothing special.

Great pub, probably the cheapest drinks in London, really good atmosphere.

Great pub, nice atmosphere, good lighting ad music.Eddy the landlord and the staff are great and the place has a nice vibe to it.I have been drinking here for years and remember it being the Faun and Firkin with a juke box and sawdust on the floors.I would recommend the pub to people that want a nice drink in good atmosphere or pre clubbing pints.Nice place!

I remember this place when it used to be "The Locamotive". Paid a fair few visits during the early nineties. It was grotty but friendly and atmospheric. A great dukebox and a good mix of tourists, shoppers and eccentrics.

The walls around the bar were covered in graffitti from visitors around the world leaving their mark and this became a tradition which seemed to be positivley encouraged!

Then it was refurbished, re named and the things that made it unique removed. Then hey presto, it has now become just another run of the mill boozer. It's not bad but nothing special.

Recently had refurbishment and name change to the Bat and Ball. Looks great inside now with 2 plasma screens, pumping music system and lots of sofas. Worth another look.

It's not a bad pub but it gets crowded very quickly because it is so small. There are plenty of better pubs in the area.

Nice pub for a quiet game of pool & a quick beer on a week night. The landlord's a friendly chap, too.
