I had a decent pint of Adnams' Bitter in here recently.
It's not a fantastic pub (I was there during the day, and it was rather dark inside), but friendly and serves a reasonable pint.

Popped in briefly for a couple of pints on Saturday night. It's an ok pub, was busy, had a bit of a wait to be served but the staff were friendly enough. Managed to get a seat but between the music and the grag queen, we couldn't hear a word. The lager was a little ropey, tasted like it was the end of the barrel or the pumps needed cleaning.
There is a tiny smoking area outside which was rammed, apparently there is a roof terrace but that was closed for some reason. The toilets were a mess, no loo roll, in need to a good clean and the disabled loo had no toilet seat.
All in all, your average gay bar.

Conforms to many gay bar stereotypes - lit up like a 70's disco, with overly loud music and blinds on the windows.
So I was shocked to go in and discover that they have two constantly changing ales which were in fair-to-good condition. Some literature scattered round to broaden your mind as well.
Digital jukebox is free before 6:30pm, though the choice of music is very limited - no Blue Monday? That's the biggest-selling 12" single of all time, you know!
Give it a try - preferable to the Malthouse, the other gay bar in the town centre.

Popped in after avoiding it for many years, still the same old viciously sad queens knocking back the vodka. Beers not very good, clientele range from the usual screamy-queens to the downright scary types who just lurk.

It is a gay pub - for men mainly. I have had some good nights in here, everyone seems friendly and don't hassle you, especially if you are female. The jukebox is quite bad though but if you like cheesey music, you'll be very happy here!

Maybe its just me but everyone in there seems gay??

Since the revamp it's improved loads, with new friendly staff and what seems to be a big improvement in the air quality. Prices are good and the music, although sometimes 'handbag house' isn't bad either. At least worth a visit. It's got a really friendly vibe.

Very smoky pub, with appallingly tacky cabaret acts. The staff are a tad on the cliquey side but not a bad gay pub all in all.

What clown decided to close the pub just before Christmas for a refurb?

Generally okay but mind the glee club who sit at the bar and slag off the customers.
