A lovely local pub with good food and service. We're not local but we've been in twice recently as a detour from the A34.
The welcome has been very friendly from the staff and the locals.
The menu is simple, but tasty.
West Berks beer was good.

We'll definitely be back as soon as we find an excuse to get on the A34.

This is a pub, a proper pub. It's not a bistro, it's not an expensive restaurant. It's not trying to be anything clever. It's a pub, plain and simple. But it's a good pub. The food is simple, good, and locally-sourced. The beer is limited in choice, but who needs choice when it's well-kept West Berks Brewery on offer, and at a sensible price, too? The landlord and -lady are friendly, as are the chatty locals. Loveley warm stove in the bar end. Just the place to go for a chin-way, a pint and a bite to eat, and to boot the bill won't leave you cold at the end of the evening.

This has recently reopened under new management, this is my third visit since it has reopened, mark and lorraine have always been the perfect hosts, the food is good quality and locally sourced and there is plenty of choices of drinks including ales. This is an up and coming local pub that is great for families and dog friendly.

Now visited the Langley twice since its opening, both times excellent service, very friendly and great tasting food too.

On the first occasion (lunchtime) my guests wanted some food that was only available on the evening menu, and the owners after a little bit of good friendly banter accommodated the request, we all left very satisfied.

The Langley Hall is certainly on its way back and will only get better as time goes by.

Initial signs bode well as this could turn into a great little local that is desparately needed around here. Beer well kept, a friendly relaxed atmosphere and the new landlords are really trying to make everyone (well almost everyone) feel most welcome. Have eaten here a couple of times and food was simple but very tasty.

Now open again under new management. Great pub food, good beer, and a big sunny garden. New website address: http://www.langley-hall-inn.co.uk/

Not yet eaten there, but they do now (as promised) have Good Old Boy which is superbly kept as is apparently selling well. Currently priced at £3/pt.

Did re-open briefly in February -- apparently to pretend the pub was open so it could be sold as a "going concern"! Anyway, it was sold, and now it's open again, since last Friday (29th July). It's too early to say how it'll be, but the signs are hopeful with, apparently, a commitment to get Good Old Boy back on the pump and a desire for it to be a (well-behaved) dog- and child-friendly country pub. Neutral rating for now; let's see what happens.

Impossible to recommend. Food was awful - the fried fish clearly used frozen fillets and tasted as though it had been fried in advance then reheated. Same goes for the chips - way overcooked and had a suspicious "reheated" taste to them.

I didn't have a pudding but the wife had a chocolate fudge cake which didn't come with ice cream or cream and apparently tasted a bit stale.

Beer and soft drinks quite cheap at least, but if you go here then prepare to be disappointed!

Appears to be closed since Christmas 2010. Hasn't re-opened in the new year 2011. RIP what used to be a really good pub...

I have given it time, but the beer & f&c system isn't working. Dogs no longer welcome even in the bar area. Very few of the locals seem impressed with the new style, beer or even the food. Very disappointing really to see what used to be an excellent pub go this way. To all inents and purposes this pub is no more.
