Quick half while waiting for a train. Nice looking clean pub, if I had time be worth staying for longer.

No idea why this website says the pub is 1.5 miles from Farnham train station, because it's actually right next door! Very convenient location, 3 very acceptable real ales, a wide selection of meals (mainly burgers) reasonably priced, and attentive service. Excellent.

Huge pub that appears to have had a massive makeover and change of fortune since the last review on here, its certainly aiming towards the young and hip crowd.

The first thing that struck me when I entered was the loud music, the 3 young barmen needed to shout across the music to ask what I wanted to drink! Even though the music was good it was far too loud.

3 ales on, I had a pint of Bath Ales Gem, served in a jug (I had a choice) and very nicely kept. I took my pint and went to the garden mainly to escape the music but also to enjoy the good weather.

Huge garden in 2 parts with a covered area and large TV screen showing sports, beyond this is a patio area and then another level up to a wide grassed area.
Food was popular with plates of large burgers, chips and onion rings passing me at regular intervals. I only stopped for 1 pint as I had a train to catch.

Decent pub, nice ale choice, cracking garden, good location but maybe the music needs turning down a notch.

Surprised this one hasn't had any recent reviews. Excellent pub with friendly staff and decent food including an inventively named range of burgers which are actually worth the slightly expensive-sounding £10-£11 a piece (with chips). Avoid the chilli that comes with Firehouse though or you'll be requiring huge amounts of one of the beers on offer to put said fire out, which last night comprised Mordue Bunny Hop (seeing as it's almost Easter at time of writing), St.Austell Trelawney and Green King IPA (fancy font version). The pub is right next to Farnham railway station so that form of transport is readily at hand if you have overdone the chilli and/or beer.

Much improved, the Black Dog beer went down very well.
Helpful staff, good food & log fire in back room. Great

I booked the hotel for two reasons, as a business traveler I needed to use Amex and have internet access. Both these were promised on the phone and advertised on their web page. When we arrive after an long tiring transatlantic travel day we are informed by a couldn't care less attitude boy behind the bar that they dont take Amex and its not on their web page and I wasnt told that it was on the phone, basically calling me a liar. After going round and round he (funnily enough) remembered they did take Amex but there would be a GBP5 EXTRA for it!
Then the internet didnt work and when I expressed how important it was for my work all I got was a shrug of the shoulders and "its not our fault". When it did work the only way I could connect to it was by hanging out the window to get signal (Fawlty Towers couldnt do better). The breakfast room was horrible, the milk was rotten on two occasions. When it was The Blueboy a cooked breakfast was included! Lights didnt work in the rooms and the hallway lights didnt work either
And why would you book a middle aged couple in a room over the noisy bar when the rooms furthest away from the bar were available (as we found out the next day from the maids?)
I dont why I booked it again in 2011. I called and booked a GBP35 room and confirmed. I got there early in the am and there was no one there. Was let in my room by a maid. Later that day I went to pay and was told I had to pay GBP65. I didnt book or want a GBP65 room, if you put me in the wrong room its my fault?

This pub does not seem to know what it is aiming for. I went in with a friend who recommended the food. It was around 7pm midweek. There were candles lit on all tables and a nice roaring fire...but also annoying techno/disco music over the speakers and the place was full of families with noisy young children and parents who were just as loud.
Also on the bad side: tables took a long time to be cleared - we moved glasses from one to be able to sit. It also took a long time to get served at the bar. The toilets were horrid - the floor covered in wet mud and the sink area covered in water.
On the plus side, food arrived in a reasonable time and the burgers are good. However, no condiments were offered - I had to go ask for these.
I will admit, perhaps the bar was just unexpectedly busy but it really put me off going again.

John the new landlord has improved this pub, no end, gourmet burgers all round.

Recently stopped off with wife & kids and really enjoyed it.

The picture on BITE could do with an update as he's redecorated & now always a a good stop off pub from the train....

At last!!!! A cool and trendy bar in Farnham that doesnt cost an arm & a leg and isnt full of pretentious wannbes or pikeys!!!!

The new owners of this bar have worked a miracle! They have clearly spent a lot on refurbishment and put a lot of care and attention into creating a great atmosphere.

There's a great beer garden and the food is really decent and very affordable!

The Friday night DJ absolutely rocks it!!!! Playing awesome house/electro/tech tunes - I think people of Farnham and the surrounding area should definitely pay the Mulberry a visit...about bloody time, that's what i say!!!
