As excellent as you would expect of a Titanic Brewery pub with a full range of the classics – even if the divine Chocolate and Vanilla Stout wasn’t on tap on this occasion. In truth, the Plum Porter beats all other Titanic beers hands down still while they had the Gran Reserve version in very large bottles. A decent craft section was augmented by an offering from oxford’s up and coming Tap Social while the guest ales were also well chosen. Busy of a Saturday lunchtime in advance of a visit from Preston North End to Stoke City.

The White Start didn't quite look like the picture above, on a very snow Saturday evening visit to Stoke. We dodged the bouncer and entered via the side door. The clientele seemed to be a lot younger than I remember and the atmosphere was a bit more lively. But it was not as crowded as it can normally get on a matchday. But perhaps the result and the weather influenced that. The young bar staff seemed a bit full of themselves. Ales were Titanic White Star, Captain Smiths, Plum Porter & Steerage, Everard's Tiger, Welbeck Abbey Red Feather, Fat Cat EPA & White Horse Blowing Stone. Ciders were Snail's Bank Tumbledown & Broadoak Draught & Moonshine.

After a couple of very good ales in the Wheatsheaf I wandered around the corner to the Titanic Breweries tap White Star. 12.30pm when I arrive and just like the 'spoons its pretty busy already with doorman on as there’s football on.

4 ales from Titanic on the hand pumps so I have a few pints of White Star @ 4.5%. White Star is normally a good ale and on this occasion it was no different, not badly priced at £3.10 a pint.

The pub is completely open plan with the bar in the centre that splits the front bar / drinking area and the rear seating area. The décor is pleasant, all the staff wear t shirts with crew on the back which is a nice touch, the ales good, the location is good so I cannot really fault this pub. Only to say it’s one of these places that feels when it’s busy you need to be in a crowd and not on your own like I was on this trip.

If I return to Stoke I will make another visit here.

An entirely civilised place, done out in what has to be Titanic’s house style – very much like the Sun in Stafford. 10 handpumps serving 6 Titanic beers, and 4 guests. Unfortunately (like the Sun again) the only dark Titanic beer was the Plum Porter, which I’d drunk elsewhere the previous day, so I settled for the Steerage which was bearable. Plenty of Titanic memorabilia on the walls. I didn’t tru the food, but it looked good – if expensive. Since the road outside has been pedestrianised, there are now some tables and benches out front.

7/10 – a good pub but not outstanding

Made a return visit to the White Star yesterday evening. It seemed quieter than normal. But there was still a good range of ales - Titanic White Star, Capt Smiths, Plum Porter, Iceberg & Steerage, Everards Tiger, Ossett Big Red, Elgoods Snickalmas & Feel Good Festive & Thwaites Yule Love It. No plastic glasses or bouncer this time around. But the White Star was lacking atmosphere. But, we did manage to avail ourselves of an offer for 8 bottles of Chocolate & Vanilla Stout for £9!

A nice Victorian building with all the Titanic range plus several guests, and memorabilia from 1912. A pub to remember.

Not bad - the Steerage was on top form and the idea of five Titanic plus five guests made for a wide choice. Early Saturday night there were a few children in, which I'm always in two minds about in a pub, and it seemed as though they were gearing up for a busy 'un. Good to see a thriving quality establishment in an area of the town that's not always been best served for them.

I still rate this pub as the best in this part of Stoke. It always has a good range of Titanic beers, plus Everards and a few guests. Beers on during our Saturday visit were White Star, Wreckage, Black Ice, Iceberg & Steerage from Titanic, Wharfebank Treacle Toffee Stout, Everards Tiger & Banks & Taylor Dragon Slayer & Aragon. There are no real ciders. But Westons Stowford Press is available. Always busy on a matchday with a bouncer to prevent away fans getting in (unsuccessful this time). Plastic glasses are the only downside.

Ten handpumps. 5-6 Titanic ales. Just under going first management change since re-opening as the "White Star", Titanics most profitable collaboration with Everards. Let's see how it goes

Titanic Brewery tap. Biggish pub and good choice of ales which were well maintained. Definately worth a visit!

Visited this pub before a Port Vale game, had a pint of guest ale White Horse "Giant Stairs", excellent pint.

Enjoyed it so much we went back after the game before heading to the station. Had a well-kept, well-served pint of TItanic "Anchor" and 2 pints of Titanic "Steerage".

Great bar staff and very pleasant customers.

Definitely recommend it and will return if in the area.

Another pleasant enough Titanic house selling most of their wares along with a few guest brews. The pint of Anchor was as good as you'll get and the barstaf and cliemtelle were quite friendly.

Fantastic pub! Spent a great evening here, tried at least half a dozen different ales, all superb condition. There are distinct areas in the pub, some quieter than others, and on the night of our visit there was a DJ playing classic reggae with an open space which made a dance floor for those so inclined, self included after the eleventeenth pint. In a town not well endowed with decent boozers, this one really stands out - would heartily recommend it to anyone looking for either a quiet pint or a bit of entertainment as well. Oh, and there's a function room upstairs as well!

Excellent beer but visit spoilt by drunks intimidating us and other visitors. Potentially a great pub.

I agree will blue_scrumpy , this pub is well worth seeking out if you are a real ale/pub fan. No gimicks , just a good pint in nice suroundings.

I'm rather surprised nobody has rated this pub previously. Despite a sign stating 'home supporters only', we visited here after yesterday's match in Stoke. There was a beer festival on. So in addition to the 9 handpumps at the bar, there were 12 further ales being dispensed on gravity to the side. Whilst it was busy, we were served fairly quickly. Beers at the bar were mainly from Titanic (Captain Smiths, White Star, Anchor, Iceberg & Stout) and Everards (Tiger & Flourish). Although there was also Shugborough Mi Lady's Fancy and Hopback Summer Lightning. The 12 festival ales were Holdens Wind Blower, Wadworth Lily the Pink, Burton Bridge Damson Porter, Rudgate Phoenix, Ashover All Saints, Spitting Feathers Basket Case, Titanic Chocolate & Vanilla Curtain, Bushys Triskelion, Breconshire Red Dragon, Castle Rock Screech Owl, Blue Monkey B G Sips and Batemans Spring Goddess. In addition to all of this, there were also 3 real ciders and a perry - Westons Old Rosie & Traditional Scrumpy, Thatchers Traditional and Saxon Harvest Perry. I think we'll definitely be returning here again next year.
