Fairly basic clean but unexciting bar with a pool table. Food served quite pricey. Grills, steaks, burgers, baguettes & jackets. Pleasant staff & customers.

Lively but not rough on music nights.
However, the current 9.5 rating is obviously the result of malfeasance, so I will be marking it down to restore some sanity

I like this pub but please please don't have last nights band back or I'll be forced to drink in the Nelson. Second thoughts they were bad but not that bad

The Spotted Cow is a really friendly "proper pub" that offers great food, fantastic Sunday roast at reasonable cost. Tony and Danielle offer a friendly service here, with great live music upstairs on a Friday and Saturday evening and Karaoke on a Monday.

Good, reasonably priced ale and some decent live music at weekends. often frequented by disillusioned former Lord Nelson drinkers and staff who got fed up with the expensive undrinkable beer.
