Sort it out, more people(5-10) outside on the pavement on a Friday night than inside the pub.Miserable barman moaning about kids in the pub.Does not take a genius to work out that if the parents and kids left there would be no clientele.Never been a clean pub but getting worse every visit, shame, was a pretty decent boozer on a Friday night 5 to 10 years ago.Won't bother visiting again, plenty of better bars in the area.R.I.P the Hercules.

unbelievable dive. worth seeing once on the grounds that its a spectacle

OH MY GOD! I didnt think it was possible for this place to get any worse but it has!!! It is positively a health hazzard, absolutely filthy. The toilets are the worst Ive EVER seen. Minging with no soap or loo roll. The gents is swimming with urine. How this place is still in business I will never know - no wonder it is always empty. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Yuk.

Two months has passed since I had to wipe my feet on the way out of this pub, smellier than I remember with the same downfalls multiplyed by 100.
Do not waste your cash in this place,go to the swimmer, enkel or big red!

What a dive, filthy smelly toilets, strange barstaff, dirty glasses.Would not recommend wasting your hard earned in this overpriced dump.Strange blonde Irish lady(staff or manager)giggly and easy if you get my drift.

Dump,filthy,minging,health hazard.
Know what the others mean about the landlady.Terrible attitude to customers, curt and abrassive.
6-8 years ago this was a nice friendly pub,how can it have gone downhill so fast!

Absolutely dead. Friendly locals have mostly been driven away by the owners sister who runs the bar for him. She is most unfriendly and usually drunk. Hes not much better! Totally devoid of atmosphere and always empty. Not what it used to be. This is a prime example of a traditional pub that has been driven into the ground by incompetency. What a shame.
|
Complete and utter dump.Owners sister runs the bar and is drunk and rude more often than not.Friendly locals are all but gone as are the decent barstaff that were at this pub from ,99 to about '05.When going to the odeon opposite recommend the swimmer for drink or amazon cafe for food.

It's a town centre pub, nuff said.
|
Always empty but the drinks are ok.
I must say that the toilets look like that the Battle of Britain has passed through it...twice!!
|

nice pub.

Nothing to recommend this, unfortunately. If you want a pre or post-cinema pint or some food, go to the Swimmer at the Grafton Arms (or the Hercules Cafe). If you want real ale, no luck. If you want good conversation from friendly locals, move on.

Not a bad pub at all. Run by a very friendly Irish guy..and have never seen a spot of bother in there yet. Watch out for the Pickford guys...take up a lot of room..lmao. Been there at night and while it can seem souless at times it is an ideal place for meeting someone as it can be so quiet it is easy to find them. Staff are always friendly too..especially one who shall remain nameless due to the fact he would die of embarassment but we lets just say that we loves Maud...lol.

This pub is quite frightening! not too bad if you are with other people, but i wouldn't be too keen on going in on my own after dark.
|
Not a huge fan. Saw a bloke in here try to whack someone round the head with one of those massive heavy ashtrays before it was wrestled off him. Good points? Uhh... Always plenty of free seats.

It's a Holloway local, devoid of scene types and high prices. Key advantage for geeks: if you sit in the front window you can reach a wifi point nearby - the height of civilisation :-)
