George the landlord has gone and so has his cask marque certificate. The beer isn't as good as when George had it but that may have something to do with marsdens take er of some of thwaites beers. The entertainment has improved and the people who visit are a lot younger. Still worth a visit.

Now a cask marque pub. It should be in the good beer guide.

The bush has once again had brass band of the year on (well organised) a folk music day, ok if you like folk, but cant please everybody.Beers well kept and pleasant people, no k---heads, just the blue rinse brigade who growl if you sit in their(ive sat there for years seat). Not bad for a s---hole.

That last comment was pathetic! The place is extremely clean and has a great landlord who has listened to the locals and put 3 real ales on.

In my opinion the Bush seems to prove to me that if a Landlord/brewery invest time and money into giving the punters what they want out of pub rather than being driven purely by maximising profits and minimising costs, then they will survive and even thrive. Good cask beers on even though the landlord is relatively new to keeping them which proves the time and effort that has been put in, sandwiches on a sunday, a good beer garden. can't fault the place.

A Thwaites pub that has the bitter and mild on cask and are always kept to a good standard. Very much a local s local on a Saturday night and beware of the daggers you may get if you sit on one of the regulars seats. The landlord is very friendly and always puts a chilli or a curry on for whenever there is a match on. Bit pricey but i feel its the best pint on this side of Droylsden. Buses 168,169 and 231 stop nearby.
