Nice little ex-Whitbread pub located just off the centre of Lymington. Not very inspiring ales on tap, Doom Bar was one offering I believe. I plumed for a lager!! 7/10 from me, the barmaid was very nice!!!

Glen, the licensee, is currently nursing his wife through a tough illness...However he still keeps the best pint for miles around! Glen's mum takes her turn behind the bar on Thursday afternoons, what a delightful lady! Pop in, have a natter, and enjoy a good pint...

Popped in while walking in the area. Late afternoon (ish) The owner is a very friendly guy, and the serving lady, also. Had a pint of the guest ale, which was excellent.A decent discussion on beers followed!
Only prob was the lack of food on asking, despite being "open all day" I believed this to mean that the pub does no food at all now.
This is a shame, as this quiet little pub was convenient to us and we eat out a lot on our hols. Many folk don't like to drink on an empty belly, so we only had one. The other customers were locals, and we latched on to their chat and had a good laugh with them. Never judge strangers in pubs until you have made the effort yourself!
The pub in general was rather faded in places and I feel could do with a freshen-up, but that's my opinion, though I did love the traditional pub style.
I would like this pub to do more custom with the addition of some kind of food during the day and evenings, and attract families. There is a huge car park that is wasted at present.

I am not going to rate this pub,as I think you should form your own view. That said, I would love to return if in the area, and stop by for a couple of pints AND A MEAL !!!!!

This pub is my sanctuary! Guest ales are now 2.90...I always look forward to whats coming next, and I've had some interesting brews this past six months...The locals have made me very welcome and the pool and juke box side of the bar is never rowdy so conversation can continue. I have three pubs in the village I live in, but travel to the Borough to avoid the smell of fish and chips and curry! This pub is just as it should be...

Arriving at Lymington, my intended first stop was The Bosun's Chair which had not yet opened, so a ten minute walk took me to The Borough Arms - a proper, friendly, local pub. I don't think I can add anything of relevance to "Jonnysaint"'s comments apart from the beer that was on - Everard's "Sunchaser Blonde" at 4.00% - absolutely excellent and a real thirst quencher. Hog Back "Dark Mild" ( 3.8 % ) was also available as was Ringwood's "Best" & "49er".

I enjoyed the company of the landlady and one of the regulars after getting over the shock of paying 3.15 for the Everard's and score The Borough Arms with a respectable 6/10.

just come home from Greece after 6 years, lucky for me Glen is still here and serving a great pint. The guest mild was excellent and the ringwood 49er was worth coming home for. You should visit this pub it deserves your support.

Popped in here whilst out cycling and although it was quiet was bowled away at the sight of Ballards Mild being available......and it was in good condition. I do hope this place gets busier as it deserves to

The Borough is a pub I pop into every so often. It's not on our regular pub 'tour' as we've seen it more as a locals place. You know the type of place - 'what are you doing in our pub' type attitude. So we've tended to go only go in twice / three times a year, which going by our last visit is our own stupdity.
The service was great. Had a chat with a nice lad behind the bar. Had a good range of ales on including a regular guest ale that changes. The interior is homely - games half and a quieter seating area. Will definately be popping into the Borough alot more. One of the finer pubs in Lymington and maybe overlooked.

Locals pub (none the worse for that) with decent pint of Ringwood. Action in main bar area with second area with more seating, probably for dining being empty

Regularly changing guest ale in addition to Ringwood Best and 49er. Fine example of a community pub for all ages with top quality ale and snacks available at all times. Very friendly. Live sporting events on TV. Occasionally volume of TV and/or background music can interfere with evening conversation, hence 8 not 9 rating.

Still very normal boozer. Nothing too clever, sound aleage with decent prices attached. Normal people drinking normal beer in a normal pub - hey sounds about righ to me.

solid local pub, can't knock it. Darts, pool etc etc. Nice staff, nothing too extravagant. Keep it up.

Had a couple of pints in here with friends on 12th November and as Richard says its a 'normal' pub. Nothing too flash about it but the ale is decent, the juke box has some good tunes and oh yeah there's the blonde barmaid with legs up to her armpits. Lovely.

Very good "normal" pub in an area full of places trying too hard....This is the pub I had my first proper pint, and the pub I met my wife in!
