The Green Dragon was our first stop in Beverley. It initially looks like a small pub in the Market Place. But it stretches back a fair way, with an outdoor courtyard/corridor area to the side. The interior is fairly non-descript and it's fairly dark. Ales were Inveralmond Frisco Steamy, Morland Old Speckled Hen, Rudgate Ruby Mild, Timothy Taylor Golden Best, Orkney Dark Island, Molson Coors New Season Pale Ale, Black Sheep Best Bitter & Greene King IPA. Cider was Old Rosie. Food was available. But it didn't look the best quality. Staff were friendly enough though.

The Green Dragon is a very misleading pub for me , from the outside it looks okay but slighty tired, however internally it has a lot about it.

It's huge and has at least 3 different areas, with a TV in 2 of the areas and another in the doorway. We stopped here to watch the football in Sunday night.

The long bar has 10 hand pumps , 8 ales Old Rosie cider and the other spare, I had a few pints of Rooster's California Common @ 4.2%. Cheap pub this one a pint of ale and a whiskey & coke for £5.45, so cheap I had to check the barman had put whiskey in the wife's drink!

Stopped here for a couple of hours, friendly barman, pretty busy, the pub sells sizzling plates of steak and ribs etc, all smelt good.

I don't normally do reviews on pub toilets but it has to be noted that the gents toilets here were spotless.

Out of the 6 pubs I visited in Beverley this was one of my favourites, there was just something very welcoming and decent about it.

I was expecting great things but was very disappointed by the national look to the beer selection, menu and surroundings. A better choice of beers would have helped.

I think the ratings are too high for this pub. Mainly national beers. One unusual porter had just run out. Food OK but very much on Wetherspoons line and some options had run out as well. Much better options for food and beer in Beverley.

Just moved to Beverley. Went for quiet pm drink and was pleasantly surprised. Large pub but still cosy , with friendly staff who let me have a taster of a lovely ale which I cant remember the name of, but better than the Corporate Tetley stuff I was going to buy. Nice sunny outside area for a smoke , and good food menu looking at it. 8/10

Molescroft!!! Give us a break! Maybe it has changed in recent times but it used to be a locals boozer selling just garbabe beer! I would like to thnk that this is a thing of the past now 'cos it's a lovely looking boozer.

Green d is an iconic pub in Beverley, good range of beers and lagers with savvy staff to boot! Food, I haven't tried, but looks good...A lovely pint of Tetleys to be had! Tried a pint of some weird named Polish dark beer tonight, nearly blew my socks off, but tasty enough though!

p.s. Why aren't the Dog and Duck; Moulders Arms and the Molescroft Inn not listed under Beverley pubs? They are all in the 2011 Goood Beer Guide and the Dog and Duck is certainly worth a mention - it has a good range of beers a very pleasant interior and does good value Sunday lunches (other meals available during the week) It also does B&B and is very handy for the Saturday Market. The other two should also be listed so perhaps somebody from Beverley needs to submit an entry?

I always thought that Nicholsons was a London pub chain but it looks as though they have branched out a bit! They had an IPA festival on when we visited so we tried a few - two were excellent and one not so hot. This is a long thin pub right in the market place and an excellent spot for watching the world go buy (especially on Saturday when the market comes to town). Food always available; service was fine with coffee being available for the girls. It's a long walk (you might need a compass and some hiking boots) from the front bay window to the loos! Outside seating and smoking area and a "modernised" traditional feel to this old pub. Definitely worth a visit if only for the beer range.

A Nicholson's house. No fewer than five real ales on tap on a midweek lunchtime. I had a very good glass of St. Peter's Mild for 2.80. Very friendly bar staff.

There are at least a dozen lager/chilled beer taps as well but I didn't note whether or not each of these was in use with a different product.

The food looks good, but I had already visited an excellent fish & chip shop (The Pisces) two minutes' walk away on Lairgate so I didn't get to sample the food here.

10 minutes' walk from Beverley railway station.

Had a quick afternoon pint in here after a visit to the Minster. The pub offers a good selection of hand pump ales and the interior of the pub was pleasant enough. My only criticism would be that it seemed a tad on the expensive side (7.40, I think it was, for two pints and two packs of peanuts).

A warm welcome is what we got on this weekday around lunch time. And as expected there were only around half a dozen people in at the time but as the pub is so long there was not a problem finding a seat and there were plenty to choose from.
There were i think seven real ales and as i could not make my mind up the bar man pulled me a few samples while he got my Wife's cider.[First time i have not had to ask if i could taste one or two]After all i opted for Tetley cask but could have had any of the other two i had sampled as they were refreshing enough.
The Tetley was just at the right temperature and held it's head down the glass.
I had Cumberland sausage with mash and parsnips the Wife had a plough mans and both were very nice.
It's a pub one could stay in all night with the range of different drinks on offer and the friendly bar staff. Very recommended

Very nice Nicholson's pub in Beverley town centre. As with the previous posting it's a narrow pub but does stretch a long way back and the interior is quite traditional popular with American tourists. The side alleyway is used for outside seating and a smoking area. The food was very nice and the service was friendly and efficient. There were 6 real ales available on my visit including a couple of World Cup themed beers.

It ticked all the right boxes upon my visit and it's worth stopping by to quench your thirst.

8/10.

On the market square. Its like a tardis, looks small on the outside but it stretches back about 50 yards with a courtyard at the back.
Inside exposed beam ceilings, lots of prints and photos on the wall, a large propeller attached to one of the beams and four bails of hay on the bar.
Seven real ales. I tried one of the IPAs which was very good whilst wifey had half a shandy. Service with a smile and was offered a sample before I bought.
Affordable food, large menu specialising in sausages. Seems to have regular events. Stayed for another.
So you've earned a 10. Well done Green Dragon, the four bails of hay swung it.

narrow but incredibly long pub in the centre of the capital of the East Riding, entrance is through an archway at the side. Good range of up to seven decently kept ales usually from smaller breweries, on this occasion Batemans, Everards, Fugglestou and Acorn plus a very wide range of keg beer and cider including Amstel, Heinekin imported, Staropramen and Peroni. Flagstones, beams and panelling from before a recent renovaton in the front bar area, along with plenty of comfy seats, a big stove and a small TV. Food is good and reasonably priced, bar and waiting staff were good even under the pressure of a biggish queue. Probably a pub with something for everyone, done very well but not excelling in any one particular area.
