not a bad pub, full of people watching a scottish football match so didn't hang around long. Standard prices for a pint of Carling, didn't fancy the Old Speckled Hen in this pub

I have just returned from wet and windy Blackpool and am surprised at some of the reviews on Scruffy Murphy's. I thoroughly enjoyed this pub - lovely staff, great friendly customers and a brilliant Saturday night due to the excellent entertainer who got the whole pub singing and dancing. Great food, I had half a chicken, chips and peas for about a fiver - the chicken was huge God knows how big the whole one was! Well done to Scruffy's for making my weekend much more enjoyable than it would have been considering the weather. I shall return!!!!

Another blackpool pub thats too cold to sit in and have a drink. Average pint of Wells bombardier served at room temperature which in this case was around -5

Coming from Blackpool and living here my entire life, I can honestly say that I used Scruffy Murphys twice in my life (5 years apart) and didnt enjoy any of my visits, hence the 5 yr gap!!!!!!! HOWEVER......... Since the pub was bought a little over eighteen months ago I have noticed an increase in my friends that now go there and having paid numerous visits to the place found myself pleasently suprised in this new found atmosphere that the place is clearly oozing! What a difference! The beer tastes clean, the staff are highly efficient and friendly and it truly feels like a traditional pub of old once more. It upsets me that the place is still receiving harsh reviews when its clearly obvious to me that Scruffy Murphys has risen from whatever rubble it has so obviously been laying in, for far too long. From the lighting to the people you;ll find it hard not to enjoy your time in this cosy little pub!!! Get yourselves in there asap!

Would rate this pub much higher if the landlady from hell hadn't shown her face. Two young lads behind the bar working their balls off with a bar full of people trying to get one last drink in. Enter said hag. Help is at hand? Not quite, she starts cashing up one of the tills, thus making it an even longer wait to get served! She did reduce the queue by two to be fair to her by chucking out two blokes who dared ask her if she would serve them a pint!!

Used to live in Blackpool and as the Grapes it was one of the best pints of Tetleys in town.....the theme pub mafia have struck again totally spoilt it and the sign on the wall outside says it all
"Pub For Let" no more to be said

It used to be "The Grapes" with decent hand-pulled Tetleys (when Tetleys used to be OK) from the 360 degree centre bar, and it had real character. Then, be jeebers! They nailed a bicycle to the ceiling, shoved some books here and there and, lo and behold, it was an Irish theme pub! A thousand curses on the people that did this to this pub and several others, ruining Blackpool town centre's pubs for ever.
