please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A real one off of a place this. Located right next to Watchet Harbour.

It was a quiet place when we visited, but two decent handpumped ales were in good nick and the cider was nice.

Folks inside were friendly and it was (very) dog friendly.

Lots of old pictures of Watchet and its maritime history, in the gents some fairly pornographic, but well painted murals.

It's obviously a place patronised by the locals and it was banging on NY eve.

There are plans afoot for an apartment development on the harbourside so no doubt if that goes ahead some twat will try to gentrify the whole area, and the bars around it. Nothing changes.

Visited here last year but never got around to reviewing it! Cracking pub with fabulous real ales. We'd been to Minehead Beer Festival but these were by far the better beers!!

Would love to return for a proper session on one of their many music nights.

I've been to a fair few clubs around the UK. But this one is the best I can remember. It has a lovely location alongside Watchet harbour and welcomes all. Inside is a quirky affair, including a Doctor Who tardis. A live band was preparing to start on our Saturday evening visit and the locals were starting to pack in. The 3 real ales were Exmoor Ale & Gold & Dartmoor Best. Cider was Rich's Traditional Farmhouse. A friendly and welcoming establishment.

Some of the reviews on this page are really old! They're totally out of date!

The Esplanade Club is the best drinking hole in Watchet & surrounding area! Prices are good, the beers are good and the entertainment (and there's lots of it!) is generally excellent. There are lots of whimsical cartoons around the place and photos of old Watchet. The clientele are really friendly and chatty and the sort you wouldn't mind inviting home for an after hours drink.

And on a nice summer's evening there are few places nicer to sit and have a beer than just outside the Club, watching the sun go down...

Bad points - sometimes (especially when there is a local event happening) it's too busy. The seating could be more comfortable.

Came across this quite by accident after alighting from the Steam Railway. Great place to have a beer in the marina area, there also seemed to be a flea market going on at the same time. I had a pint of Butcombe which was ok, but there was a certain lack of choice. Still a pleasant place to while away some time for the return train.

good '''club''' as per say but have to wonder why anybody and there dog can get in surely a club is a members and guest sigh in only,
went in on sat and could not get near the bar!!!!
i paid for membership last year and am wondering why!!!!
as a pub it rocks but as a conservitive club perhaps no,
real ale i'm told is ok could not get to sample it as so many non members it was silly.
i was told the stuward put a door man on to stop non members comeing in but all he did was sigh anyone and sundrie in. not impressed
i will not use this place again rather go to the other GBG pub in watchet and enjoy there local beers instead of cornish beers .

Very friendly place but the beer was disappointing for a CAMRA listed GBG 2010 pub.

An excellent location on the Esplanade, this "club" has a range of local real ales and non-members can be signed in by a "Local". It is listed in the GBG but I do have to say I had better pints from other non-listed pubs in the area. The interior was a bit basic for my taste but I can imagine the place "rocking" when the "boat comes in"!!

Fine friendly local club that welcomes visitors. Good draught beer. Live R&B band on Saturdays
