The Hope's currently under-going a refurb - apparently, there's going to be a Cocktail bar upstairs (bring it on). Unfortunately, this means the previously great beer garden is now a third of the size whilst the work takes place (and it can feel like drinking in a building site) but sure this is only temporary. Good place to watch the football, and for a summer's drink.

Rather bland and characterless one bar place ( can't really call it a pub ) - it's a Young's owned establishment, but I can't imagine there's much beer trade, not that type of place. My pint was distinctly average.

With The Landor not too far away, it's hard to see me doing this one if I'm ever in the area again

An excellent sports pub. There are 2 huge screens and several TVs. Spacious with a central bar and some good bar snacks. Staff are friendly and quite efficient compared with the local competition. A convenient stop off on the way home, although I agree with Bernard's comments about drinking in a barn.

Pretty good local, though if it's quiet can be a bit like drinking in a barn. Beer above average, food great, staff efficient and friendly

Agree the beer garden is great, and food is generally excellent ('tho kitchen can close quite early). The beer is Youngs.
Since the revamp a few years ago, the interior is a bit antiseptic good taste urban style.
