Green King Pub, beer was actually very good, we were in the smaller bar, cosy & friendly.

Had lunch there today - the food was great, the service lovely and welcoming, and think this is (following the change in ownership of the Green Dragon) the best place to eat in Haddenham. Go and give it a try.

"The Rose and Thistle or RAT, as it is known locally, is building a great reputation for excellent food, beautifully kept real ales and great hospitality. It can cater for all occasions, parties, celebration meals and is ideally placed close to Haddenham Church to cater for weddings, christenings and funerals. Drinkers and diners alike are drawn from Haddenham, Chearsley, Cuddington, Thame and surrounding areas. The beer garden is the largest of all the pubs in Haddenham and there is a small function room in the rear of the building which is ideal for meetings and get togethers." written by Martyn on June 14th, 2011

This pub has made a complete turn around for the better. There has unfortunately been some bad comments from before the new landlords have taken over, and these seem to have stuck, however this is not the case. It has been refurbished, redecorated as well as a new simple menu put in place by the current team. Quoted from "The Aircrew Association-Chiltern Branch": of which the original document has been received by the pub:
" Thank you so much for laying on such a splendid event for the Aircrew Association on Thurs 14 July. It was a really great effort all around from the friendliness of all the staff, the splendid menu and the speed with which you managed to get all the food out at the correct temperature. A truly superb team effort!"
Well done to the new landlords and all the best for the future, we certainly will be back.

This pub was much improved by the new landlord, . But he unfortunately he runs another pub in Chinnor, so has installed a manager.
Visited twice this August for Sunday lunch.
First time the Beef was so tough as to be inedible, even with a steak knife - but for some reason we still paid!
Second time we visited, we were assured that the beef was good, but a sparse plate full came smothered in burnt gravy. -so was returned.
The nice young barmaid offered to by us a drink out of her own money (obviously declined) - The manager just asked if we would we like to order something else? NO CHANCE! IM NOT GIVING THIS PUB ANY MORE MONEY!
Apparently they lost their chef a month ago, replaced by the managers wife. The ready meals still seem ok. but shes clearly not capable of a Sunday lunch!

Was in over the weekend, been in a couple of times before. New landlord, GK IPA and Olde Trip. Olde Trip kept well and the place certainly smells alot better for a change. Good on him.
