I often stay the night here whilst working in Yeovil. It's a nice place with an excellent menu and pretty good beer. The rooms are comfortable and good value. Sometimes the service is a little lacking but it will remain my lodging of choice when in the area.

This pub has improved over the years. First visit since 1988 and wow, what a difference. The inside is very 'olde worlde'. The menu looks superb (I saw two steaks come out and they looked fantastic). The ale is supplied courtesy of the Royal Clarence Hotel (Brewery), not to everyone's taste (including mine) but in good condition all the same. The only draw back is that the licensee comes across as being 'offish''. sort of 'nice of you to pop in, pay for your beer and sod off'...kind of attitude. Oh well....6/10 from me.

Good pub with friendly staff and good food.
RCH real ale and good cider. mainly caters for the eating trade and the tables are on top of each other to pack them in.

A good Pub with friendly staff. R.C.H Pitchfork and East Street on when I visited plus Ciders. Food excellent and plenty of it. The accommodation was of reasonable standard as well.

Good atmosphere, food and drink but one significant problem - very disappointing customer service. Without going into specifics I will not be visiting this pub again, the landlord's attitude stinks.

Been several times to this popular pub and never disappointed. Not too busy this lunchtime but friendly welcome, food was good and plentiful, plus lovely pint of Pitchford to wash it all down.

Been visiting this pub for the last few years, a couple of times aweek and the consistency of the food and real ales are unbeatable. Read the review by BobOs and it is rubbish, if you wait at the bar 5 or 10 minutes you WILL get a table, reckon their better off without him !

A pleasant place, with good ale and food. I visit fairly often. There is a house beer, Mudford Wreck, and guest beers come from the West Country - one from Quantock at the moment. The food is good, and served all day. There is accommodation as well. These days so many pubs are closing, but this one definitely bucks the trend. Give it a try.

This is a great pub. I go there for a meal about twice a month.

They do not take bookings, but I have never had to wait more than 5 mins for a table, including on a saturday evening.

The food is good home cooked food, particularly reccommend the lamb shank. Food is served hot, and in little time, but is still freshly cooked.

Friendly staff and popular local location make it a great evening out.

I have rated this place with a zero simply because I haven't been able to get in. Apparently the food is quite good but the problem is that they don't take bookings for tables. We tried to get in a couple of times on the offchance but were turned away because the place was full. At 8.30 in the evening we've discovered it's almost impossible to get in anywhere else. I then heard a rumour that they are taking bookings so, last Saturday, I phoned to book a table to be told in a VERY rude manner that they still don't take bookings. So, unless they change their booking policy, I won't change my rating.
