Decent community pub - seemingly running the village shop from the outbuilding in the car park.

Plenty of outside benches and inside is a long thin bar area, with room for dining.

Uninspiring choice of Doom Bar or Tribute but the latter was in very good condition.

Visited for the 1st time yesterday. 4 Beers available, Greed KerChing, Tim Taylors, Morland, and Purity. There is a small food shop located in the carpark. Sandwich was excellent. Seperate dining area at one end and a raised seating area at the other. Hot food looked good and the portions large. Seemed a good honest pub that is not trying to be gastro.

Excellent pub. I was a stranger to this area, but certainly the welcome was warm enough.
Superb pint of Marston's Pedigree followed by an equally good Abbott Ale. Heaven.
Not bad food either, though just had a sandwich.
I'd definitely recommend a visit.

Visited today in passing, and had an excellent Pint of Everards. I was first through the door at 12.05, and the beer was immaculate, and had clearly been pulled through very clean lines.
I noticed that they had no less than 4 other Cask Ales on, and will definately return here....only next time, I'll make the missus drive!!

Sunday lunchtime the restaurant is full, food is excellent and served in good portions the service superb the pub is light and spotless. The only downside is that all the beers are served through sparklers and is served too cold.

Came here last week for a meeting with a pal from afar, like me afar as well, we met halfway at The Malt Shovel, and a vey good choice. A good selection and well kept range of beers and food , restaurant or bar of excellent quality with service to boot. Look no further.

Went one lunchtime on a beautiful day. Quite busy with people from nearby Land Rover so we had to sit on one of the car park tables rather than the patio but that was our choice. Good range of bitters, Flowers Best (too cold for me), Hooky, Fullers ESB, Pedigree and I think Boddies and one other. I know they have had Tim Taylor's Landlord in the past. No draught cider. Excellent mixed ham/cheese Ploughmans for 6.95 - really could not fault it. The same for the cheaper granary bread sandwiches. The service was fast and efficient. There may be a little curtness at times (not rudeness though) but that in no way detracts - go there! This is a good honest pub not a fancy gastropub (thankfully).
