Yes, the Mighty Bush, jigsawly stone course jumbled, thatchety-cockroof hatted, and fireplace-cradling matron of hostelries, ahhhh, let sleeping logs lie.

Bit of a foodie place, actually, but not bad, several ales, so have eight out of ten.

It took us a while to find this gorgeous-looking village pub. We'd been in the village and then ended up on the A48 through some roadworks where there was no way of turning round. By the time, we finally located it, they had no more space left for us to eat. Whilst there were plenty of tables and food is supposed to be served until 9:30, the kitchen was obviously already up to full capacity by 8:00. Get some more staff! Abbot is the regular ale. Two guests were HPA & Betty Stogs. They also had Old Rosie cider, which was quite welcome. There are 3 or 4 rooms inside, mostly given over to dining. We sat in the small bar area, which appears to be set aside for drinkers. Nice pub, but a shame they do not serve food after 8pm.

my wife and I called here for lunch yesterday and we were impressed at the good quality of the food and the friendly service from the staff. Between the main menu and the daily specials there is a reasonable choice of dishes although they do major on their pies for mains, so it's particularly good if you're a pie fanatic. I ordered a chicken & curry pie and my wife a welsh (hand-made) lamb-burger both with chips and salad. To follow we had one vanilla ice cream and one Rhubarb & blackberry pie with cream.
I had a very good pint of Tribute ale and my wife a coke and the bill came to a very reasonable 33.
There are two eating areas and a 'snug' bar which looked like it was for the locals to have a pint in and play darts.
There were two minus points. For me personally one was that I'm not a great lover of my meat pie being served in a ceramic dish with just a top crust of pastry although this is a widespread catering method of cooking these dishes. The salad was likewise served in a dish so if you don't decant the dishes on to your plate you're left holding knife and fork vertically to avoid the sides of the bowls or else you tip the contents out and end up with a bit of a mess.
The other minus was that we had a long wait for our dessert to be served.
Having said this the food was very tasty and this pub is definitely worth trying.

What a lovely summer experience my family and I had at the Bush whilst on holiday recently. We ate outside in their large garden as the sun set. The Food was absolutely outstanding and really reasonably priced. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to look after us even finding some toys for my two young children to play with in the garden. Over and above what we would ever expect. I can't rate the place highly enough.

We were in Cowbridge on holiday and ended up eating here on three different evenings during our weeks stay because the food was just so, so good. The Inn has been beautifully restored and is just really laid back and comfortable with fantastic staff who seem to want you to have a great time We will definitely be returning to this lovely area next year and hopefully the food and the service will be just as brilliant as it was last week.

At last , the Bush Inn now has new management with Liz and Andy, their personalities and management style instantly reinstating the atmosphere and quality you should expect from a vibrant local. Its such a shame that the previous Landlord let it go so badly. The food is now fantastic and bursting with taste including an awesome range of pies!!! The wines and beers are excellent and well priced. Thank God someone's rescued this pub at last to fulfill its potential. 10/10!
