I had a work function lunch here. We were in the room out at the back. The real ale handpump in the attached bar wasn't working, but there was one working handpump in the main pub bar. The food was excellent. There was canned music, which is not everyone's cup of tea.

Another excellent meal there last evening, and very pleased to see that alongside the normal London Pride and Courage Best they had Bingham's Twyford Tipple. This was on excellent form and I hope they keep stocking it as local beers are preferable to "the usual".

Had a very nice meal there last night with my wife; we shared the seafood platter, then she had the pork and I had the steak burger. I'm told the pork was good, and the burger was lovely - very fat and juicy - and the chips were chunky and hot. Had to take a break after that because we were very full, but we did eventually manage to share a suitably rich chocolate cake dessert.

Service was efficient (no problem when we asked for a top-up of my wife's 2/3 full cup of coffee) and I would say it was good value - 62 including 2 pints of London Pride, a glass of white and one coffee. There was also a small plate of complementary olives and bread.

Deservedly popular.

Very posh place - and expensive! Actually, quite relieved they couldn't find us a table to eat at. Surprised to find a drinkable ale in "Hullaballoo" there though. Don't know if it's changed but didn't seem to be the "knees up" type of place some people have described but the staff seemed attentive, will return when I've saved up for my bow tie?

Great food even if a little pricey. Bit pretentious so wont suit the traditionalists but still friendly and comfortable.

First visit to this pub, and we were most impressed. Excellent (albeit a bit pricey) food, friendly service and very comfortable. Place was packed out so obviously popular.
More importantly, the beer was good - Black Sheep Best Bitter was in excellent condition, Spitfire was also good and London Pride also available.

Will be returning!

A very descent boozer indeed.

However I had a unique experience in there cos I met some bloke whose name was Harry and he looked well depressed and was stairing into his pint glass in tears. I asked him what was wrong and he just looked at me and said 'I dropped fifty grand in a casino which I kept in the glove compartment next to my gun'. The pianist then started playing Tragedy.

Met a very interesting man in here called Fitzy. He was drunk, but luckily I had just had half a bottle of scotch myself so I understood him.

Also Brian Moles was playing "Goodness Gracious, Great balls of Fire" on the Piano.

Needless to say it was a hell of a night and posibly one of my best nights ever spent in a pub (except that one in 1996 in Margate).

It is simply great to have this wonderful pub reopen after such a long period in closure (Fitzy is especially happy).

I happened to reacquaint myself with this pub recently and was delighted to see Brian Moles in the bar on the piano with the whole pub singing Knees Up Mother Brown!

Get Reading 28/11 - "The Walter Arms opened earlier this month and is pulling back those regulars who had seen their Sindlesham local shut for six months.

It was like it had frozen in time, said Nathan, the new owner of the typically Victorian building. We came in two months ago and there were half empty pints on the bar.

So open but needs an inspection as to its ale and ambience. From the article I got the impression they were more food than beer. What do you think Quinno?

Nice enough pub, but received the least friendly welcome. The woman serving looked at us like we'd crawled out from under a stone (we were, I assure you, well scrubbed and in best bib & tucker) and she managed not to speak at all whilst serving us. Not even to state the price! Food & service at the restaurant next door were good though.

Small, cosy rustic pub. Very friendly, good food.
