This pub is in a nice location, the childrens playground was loved my my 4 year old daughter, the beer is good. The only thing that lets it down is the food being really poor, which is a shame, which is made worse by it being over priced. My 4 year old had a childrens sunday roast, the roast potatoes were undercooked and generally the food wasn't that hot, the meat was cheap formed slices. My sister in law had gammon and chips which is nearly 10 quid!, chips undercooked and quite a small piece of gammon for the price. Its such a shame because everything else but the food is fine. We wouldn't eat there again but will probably stop for a drink and use of the playground if passing.

I went to The Saracens Head on a lovely sunny afternoon. The beer garden was such a wonderful place to chill with my 3 year old daughter. Hubby was happy as they've got cask ale on as well. I was told there would be a 45 minute wait as a lot of people were ordering at once. Much to my surpirse the food arrived in 20 minutes and tasted amazing. Very good value as well. Highly recommended

Everything about this Pub is quality. The Beer is top notch. The Coffee is amazing. The beer garden is lovely and has an amazing children's area. Perfect for those summer afternoons. Food is unique and again top notch. There is also a fantastic play barn which is perfect if, like me, your sick of those' jungle jims' style places which serve mediocre coffee and Luke warm coffee. The area is well maintained with slides and ball pools and you can just sit with a beer and watch your little ones have fun.

I recommend the Saracens head to everyone I speak to.

I went to the saracens head with my partner on saturday and have to say that everything was brilliant.
From walking in to leaving was just a great experience, The food we ordered were steaks and we could not complain about anything, we eat the lot and loved it.
The staff were attentive & cheery and the pub was clean & tidy.
I would recommend the Saracens Head to anyone looking for good food & service in a cosy environment.
well done 10/10

The food here is shocking. It is 5 for a starter, main or dessert. We just had a main course each, I had fish and chips. The chips weren't cooked properly, the fish was tasteless and the mushy peas tasted powdery. My son had fish fingers that looked like they had been under a 100 watt bulb for a few hours, some very perculiar looking mash that was very dry and illuminous green peas that for some reason were solid when cut in half - like they were made of solid plastic. He is 16 months old and normally eats anything but even he wouldn't touch his food. My wife had a burger and chips and the burger looked very odd. We didn't finish our food and it was starting to make me feel sick. The interior is quite tatty and the outdoor play area is OK for kids but could do with tidying up. My wife complained about the food and the manager robustly defended the quality of the food but we just weren't convinced and on spekaing to some people outside they thought the same about the low quality. We won't be recommending it or going back.

We went out for a lovely family lunch - 4 of us not being from the area and so my brother in law looked up the pub on line. After receiving 5 cold Sunday roats and a free black hair in the pate we were loathed to have to pay for the whole meal. When we discussed this with the Manager he turned on our whole party and accused us of regularly going into restaurants, ordering food and refusing to pay for it. If you knew us you'd know we would never dream of doing that. I've never actually complained about a meal before - never felt it was worthwhile as it could just be my taste buds. After raising his voice at us, saying only nice customers deserved customer service and warning us never to return to his pub again we left, after paying for the food which was edible and the drinks we had. The staff seemed untrained, the Manager rude and unhelpful and the service generally not up to standard. I would not recommend anyone to vist this establishment for food or drinks.

After an absence of a few years, was very pleased to see that the superb interior had not changed and that the staff were more than helpful. The Carling was first class and I noted that they had a couple of real ales on as well as the usual commercial stuff.
A place to eat in very pleasant surroundings and the beer's well kept.
Only downside is that the garden has remained a kiddies paradise and resembles a kindergarten rather that an outside drinking area. For quieter outside drinking I'd suggest the Green Dragon further down the road.

Although I haven't been here for a couple of years, glad to see it on the site. Always enjoyed visiting this pub and couldn't really fault it. Having said that, not sure that the kiddies play amenities did anything for the pub (except perhaps pull the punters in). Will be visiting in the summer and hope that the pub itself and the service remain unaltered. No grading until my next visit, but could certainly recommend it to anyone based on past experiences.
