This place serves Hog's Back TEA. Which is all you need to know. Cracking.

Ridiculously tiny bar, with delusions of grandeur to host events. Beware, upstairs seating area is actually toilets.

On a day trip to Guildford, we happened to stumble into Heywoods, after looking for a place to eat lunch. We had some superb, huge sandwiches, complete with a generous side of chunky chips and salad, all for around 3, which was an utter bargain considering the alternative high-street chain cafes. Friendly service too - recommended.

I go to Heywoods whenever I want to go to a pub, it's a great place, run by friendly people. It has good music, but can get very busy from time to time (not always a bad thing of cource). One of the best pubs I've been to.

It's a great venue, warm intimate atmosphere, on the last Friday of every month it's a funk house night; DJ is a legend and the place goes wild!

Definetly worth checking out the last Friday of a month

This pub has a tendency to be quite quiet. they also have a lot of round tables which can be a problem for people who prefer square ones.

This place is quality... probably the least pretentious bar around. Dunno what's happened to that Prince-like barman everyone's talking about, but the people here now are really nice. They do nice food (pretty cheap too), a great selection of drinks and the best live music nights I've seen for a long time. Weekends they either have DJs or bands on. The new owners have done it up too & it's looking pretty good.

Great atmosphere + all of the above = quality pub. Definitely check it out if you need somewhere to go to get away from the poseurs.

Quality mate, new owners doing a great job- The music nights seem to be popular- like i was with one of my mates from the ACM, and this fit chick did an awsome set- Sam Gore, how could i forget, and ho;y moly this ginger geezer played last and he can't half play, and the crowd just shut up-You wanna come here and witness the fitness.Sound little bar, wid da vibes!

Now called Heywoods, and it re-opened under this name in the last couple of weeks.

My housemate and I were in there with another mate on Tuesday (20th Jan) for a few drinks. Turns out my housemate really wanted to see the live act. He's a really good guitarist it turns out, as well as being one of the ex-owners. Nice selection of music, too, (mostly stuff from the last decade) with a good atmosphere from the loyal punters.

They were a bit short on tables, but apparently they're getting some more furniture soon.
Cost-wise, a tenner doesn't get you much more than a Stella, a Guinness and a large dry white wine, so you're talking trendy prices like the Weyside. Service-wise, they didn't do too badly considering the crowd, but the Guinnesses (Guinni?) took a long time to get topped off.

No evidence of a tall, Prince-like barman... But there was a barmaid and we reckoned the bar manager was her dad.

When this place was still called Beavers Bar, the menu was titled the "Beavers eating experience". Hmmm.
