please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Small, low beamed roof, setup mainly for diners.

Decent menu - at the top end of pub dining prices - Cheese and Biscuits was £8 to give you an idea. Good at table waitress service.

Ringwood Bitter was OK - nothing out of the ordinary.

More of a restaurant than a pub, but as we had made the effort to visit we took a space at the bar and looked at what was on offer. London Pride is a bit of a usual round here so went straight for the Ringwood Best. Eggghh - can't be one of their best sellers as it was a bit tangy and flat. :-( My mate had a Peroni and the round cost a small fortune so we didn't stop long - just lucky as we were asked to move out of the way for the lunchtime regulars. Not really for drinkers

We had heard very good things about the food at The George & Dragon, so popped along for lunch one day. The menu is absolutely fantastic, full of delicious sounding food but sadly it didn't live up to our expectations.

We both ordered crab sandwiches, but there was barely any crab in them at all - it seemed to be just bread and mayonnaise! Having said that, because the menu is so good and the pub is lovely, we will probably try it again soon for a dinner.

Disaster !! it seems the decent barman was only filling in for a few weeks, popped down again and was confronted by a Napoleonic character called Frodo who barked orders at the hapless bar staff but even his beer fueled comments couldnt help them to pour a decent pint.

Food looked good so I reckon if you are eating give it a try but if you are after a pint try The Swan in Arborfield

What a lovely country pub, popped in at the weekend, Pride and Brakespear on tap, most amusing knowledgeable barman and attentive waitresses, what more could you ask for

Revisted the other week. Similar experiences as before except that the beer wasn't as good and the girl behind the bar was friendly but clueless - I've not seen a simple order for a pint and a half of beer take on such a surreal form before. Dali would be proud.

We went for an early evening meal in April, having once had lunch here. An old style pub with the emphasis on food. Good beers on handtap.
Good variety of food, including 5 vegetarian options.
Excellent service.
Obviously popular as two thirds full at 7.30.
Rural setting though quite near Reading.Next to footpath for walks. We'll be back!

One of the few places I repeatedly go back to and it never disappoints.

In a sea of average or below par places, this does at least stand apart.

Only popped in for a beer so can't comment on the food, although pretty much the entire place was set up for dining, no real drinking area.

Interior is quite pleasant, imagine it would be nice on a winters evening with the real fire blazing away.

Two ales on (Pride and Brakspear) both pretty good in all honesty.

Service was a bit of a let-down, the Kelly Osborne-a-like was pretty surly, guess she must be the landlords daughter as it looked like she didn't really want to be there.

Will try again die to the beer quality.

An odd pub this one, it has a restaurant and a bar which seem to compete for the customers. Go in the front door and, most likely you will be hijacked by the restaurant staff and never find the bar.
That bar is best reached by the side door, it is a proper, if a bit sanitary, bar serving 2-4 ales and the usual ciders/lagers etc. The cask beer is good without being anything to write home about.
The food promises much but, on my two recent visits, fell short of expectations.
My rating? 7. Close, as they say, but no cigar.
When all that is said it is a very pleasant place to be for an hour or two.

Lovely country pub. Good beer and crisps! Friendly staff. Food looks lovely if a little pricey. Small garden overlooking fields is perfect for a stop off to chill out!

The food here is excellent.

I agree the food is excellent. Service can be very good, or sometimes not. Good as long as you are looking for a restaurant with a bar rather than a “proper” pub.

Good food, good service, worth the journey. Booking recommended, I've only ever seen this place full, which speaks volumes for the quality of the place.
