please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Renamed in part to the Aidensfield Arms in a bid to woo Nick Berry Fans.

Mental Busy. Miserable Staff. Terrible Black Sheep beer in awful condition.

Think I'm exaggerating? Have a look at tripadvisor!

This is a pub/hotel, that caters for Americanand other tourists. Ok If you like that sort of thing, otherwise stay clear.
Beer was warm and almost out of date, the prices are Carlsberg 3-60 real ales (dont ask!) Childrens drinks 1-30 a small one! Its disgusting how these places rip people off. Dint try the food but it didnt look up to much considering the prices on the menu. A place to avoid, unless you are desperate to see the heatbeat connection. Bar staff like robots .

Visited this pub a couple of weeks ago and though the beer was ok it was VERY overpriced and was a VERY short measure nearly three quarters being head. Pub was empty and without the trade of the 'Heartbeat' fanatics this Pub/Hotel along with the village will eventually die. Landlord didn't seemed to care whether he had customers or not! The other pub across the road was very busy and at least they managed a smile and made you welcome. Not a pub to recommend apart from the 'Heartbeat' connection.

Yes, we visited during the course of a Heartbeat nostalgia trip involving a journey on the N.Yorks Moors railway. Pub was a bit busy so we finished up having our meal at the pub across the road.

The hotel is very close to the steam railway station. Camerons Strong Arm and Black Sheep were on in the pub. We stayed two nights and it was fine but all the time we had the feeeling of being in a time warp - the TV series Heartbeat and the resulting tourist trade has left much of Goathland trying to hold on to that 60's era. (And why not as it brings in money.) The hotel is a living museum to Heartbeat and people have come from all over the world to see it and, in particular, the bar. If you love Hearbeat you will love this place otherwise you will go away with the thought of OK beer, OK food, OK rooms and, very friendly staff.

Not bad as a pub though not somewhere you'd like to dwell too long unless you're a Heartbeat afficienado. The food is below par pub fare and the beers aren't brilliant.

A decent pint of strongarm but a bit of a sterile enviroment, no atmosphere at all.

Decent enough pub but I get the impression they are fed up sometimes with the Heartbeat connection. Had Cameron's Strong Arm and Blacksheep available.

Also known as the "Aidensfield Arms " of TV series "Heartbeat", the Goathland Hotel actually is a quite nice pub, if you are able to disregard the busloads of tourists who pour in (I must admit I was among them ...). At least the tourists contribute to a brisk trade in the daytime. A couple real ales were on.
