Small, traditional local with a couple of cask ales and an older clientele. Surprisingly they don't accept cards, which is a nuisance when it's £5.10 for 2 pints!

Not sure when but this pub has been taken over by the craft union pub company. It had two ales on, doom bar and TT landlord. I didn't try either so I can't comment on how they were kept but landlord was 2.25 a pint, very well priced. Worthington was 1.95 a pint. Seemed to have a good down to earth atmosphere with people having a laugh and not taking things too seriously. Only problem with it is it isn't that big so I can imagine it would get quite rammed pretty easily. But if it isn't too busy then it's deffo worth a look in.

Good selection of beer and generally a good crack, though can't help feel that some of the previous posters are over-egging the humble working man bit.........Probably suffered a bit with the smoking ban and the Saturday night karaoke is noisy and popular. Overall though good value and a decent pint of Cumberland usually available.

Good, unpretentious pub. Plenty of racing chat from people nipping in from the bet shop next door. Used to be thick with smoke, but no more.

Agree with Fuller. lots of banter about Racing and Footie and made to feel very welcome by regulars. Certainly looking forward to the next visit

Use it when staying at Britannia. Great boozer for racing and footy.Locals are sound, even talk to southerners.

'whip it'! as they say in the Nelson.

Decent local boozer...the only one in didsbury village where the punters may have calloused hands...
But bring back the Holts` bitter.....It was one of the best kept pints in south Manchester

Nice, cosy, unpretentious boozer. Very small though.

Good cheap working mans boozer. Good for watching the football. Always friendly banter, a great place to get away from her indoors.

Yes, agree with Mr Boswell. Salt of the earth clientele, superb ale and no toffs, trendies, or neds.

Superb pint of Holt's, great price, no toffs, no students, live football and even a decent jukebox. Look no further for a cracking pint at the right price.
