Predominantly old school Irish boozer. They had ales on but no one was drinking them and didn''t fancy risking them so stuck to the lager here.

Small pub, with friendly Irish staff. Karaoke several times a week

This place was much busier than the Hobgoblin around the corner. Brakspear Bitter was being dispensed from 2 handpulls with a further 2 unused. The interior was fairly cosy, with water jugs hanging from the ceiling and plates on a high ledge. There was also some pipe smoking ephemera. The pub clearly had an Irish influence. Hurling was being shown on 2 TVs as I entered. One was changed to German Horse Racing whilst I was there! Regulars were crowded around the bar and families were enjoying Sunday lunches. Whilst the place had much more atmosphere and felt more like a pub than others I visited in Maidenhead, it was actually a little too noisy. The constant screaching of kids was not to my liking.

Recently refurbished. Place has been brightened up a lot. Nice well kept beers and pub food. Music at weekends.

Well worth try to get away from the yuppie bars for a pint of real beer.

Pub of childhood still full of the same spivs and trash I remember. Pint died half way through due to the seemingly common practise of brewers and landlords selling low condition beer early in its lifecycle (condition develops in barrel).

Still beer was better than brown puke they used to serve 20 years ago. Never got the Brakspears thing like most CAMRA likes one wonders if the image dominates the reality. After all they use a diacetyl drop method.

Bit small and grubby, plenty of Oirish locals - but has Brakespears on and the owner will always stick the sport on for you if you ask.

Tempted in by the Brakspears attractions promised therein. Alas, all they had on was a rather uninspired draught bitter. No atmosphere, disappointed in the free and easy attitude of the barman who I rather hoped might actually stand and serve rather than competely disappear out of the front door of the pub when he felt like it. Won't be going back.
