For some inexplicable reason, when I'm thinking of a pub to go to, I never think of this place. And I don't know why. With four ales on the hand pumps, really good reasonable priced food and welcoming staff its a great pub. ‎

Stopped here for a couple after a day at the seaside. Very friendly barlady made us feel welcome and I enjoyed two pints of SN Master Brew. Lovely quiet garden and deck outside and a cosy atmosphere inside with what seemed like a good mix of locals and people passing through - would definitely come back.

Nice pub this.
4 ales - St Austell Tribute was very nice.
Service good although they did seeem a bit stressed !
To be fair, it was quiet busy, apparently with people waiting for food.
Didn't try it ourselves but that can only be a good sign.
All in all, this is a place I'd recommend and I'd definitely come back.

IT's been a year since my last review of the place, and in that time standards have been maintained. Four ales on the hand pump, good food reasonable priced. Friendly service, and cyclist & child friendly too.

I've increased my rating from 7/10 to 8/10.

Four decent ales, friendly staff and a decent beer garden. the only place for miles around that does Deuchar's IPA

This pub has a nice mellow atmosphere and used to have an excellent selection of 36 home made wines including everything from eldreberry to parsnip. The pub serves food and has a nice beer garden out the back.

Ramblers can link this up by Bourne Lane and explore the Walnut Tree in nearby Aldington or walk the footpath through the woods down to the Saxon Shore Way north of Bilsington and follow the long distance path to Hamstreet Station (4 miles).
