please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Reviews from 2011 are about right. Surely it is losing money (or involved in money laundering..)
Wont be missed if it does go.

Over 20 years since I was here when it was called the Two Brewers.

It’s about 8pm on a Saturday night and it’s a third full, all punters are clearly locals. Music playing very loud in the bar we enter, there’s also a pool table.

2 cask ales on which were Sharp's Doom Bar and my choice which was Long Man Brewery Long Blonde...not a bad pint but not kept that well, good value at £2.80 a pint.

We take our beers and head out to the large garden at the side and rear, there’s a very large decking area with lots of benches.

Food is served inside but on this visit the only food option was a bar b q that was going on in the garden, food actually looked decent to be honest.

Not a pub I will return to as it is a bit if a dive though the staff and punters were friendly enough.

Ticked and that’s it for me.

Horrible - now doing alot of late night raves with heavy bass banging out. Has the potential to be good but disappointing.

Aggh what the fingers has happened? Now I wasn't a fan of the make over or even worse the change of name. But the decking and picnic table area now looks very sad. A cavernous pub, with about seven people in. And only me drinking the less than average ale. One pub where the formlaic makeover failed. Maybe they weren't quite ready for this in SE6

BRING BACK THE RUTLAND ARMS

The perry hill has changed management, and you can tell the difference already, the staff are friendly, and from what they say, it is going to be family friendly with good reasonably priced food food and good ales. I can see myself spending a lot of time in in their massive beer garden over summer.

I went into the Perry Hill last week for a couple of drinks. I had been before and found it to be welcoming and having a decent selection of beers. Sadly last week it was very disappointing. the choice was pretty uninspiring - Pride and Bombadier - and the Pride was poor. I took it back and said it wasn't very good hoping I'd be offered a Bombadier instead but the barman said "I don't drink bitter so I wouldn't know". Failing to realise that I didn't really care what his preferred tipple was...I just wanted a nice beer. I ended up having an Amstel which says it all. The dining area was very quiet. The food in there is very good, or at least it was six months ago. There were a group in that were quite drunk and the language was a bit disappointing (you're good at swearing lads even though the vocabulary is very limited, now lets try it a bit quieter....) and the management did nothing to keep them calm. Perhaps this was linked to the dining area being virtually empty. The place is up for sale but it was still disappointing. Its a fine looking pub and there isn't much in the area but the Honor Oak and the Blythe are better.

Hmm, very quiet for a Saturday lunch time, clearly going for the restaurant trade, thought the prices for food were good until I discovered that it was only a starter size (perhaps explains why it was so empty). So so Bombadier (and Pride on as well, so not particularly exciting).

Like most pubco places that think they are gastro, much of the charm seems to have gone in the refurb, to create yet another generic interior.

Clearly from postings here, and one really amusing one on the Dolphin at Sydenham, there are some fans. I am indifferent, and as far as proper pubs go the Rutland Arms is much missed, but at least the Blythe is in walking distance.

This was in 'Pubspy'in the News Shopper - I am warming to this and loosely agree with their comments (approx 3 stars out of 5)

This pub looks great, the outside area is fantastic for families and kids. It looks great inside and makes you feel special. The food is very high quality, the best sunday lunch I have had besides the Woodsman in Sydenham (which is simply incredible). The prices are reasonable and the portions realistic. Thank god there is a pub that doesn't have sticky carpet for a change. Much as I love old style boozers we need a selection. I think this is a great asset to the area.

I recommend it.

Huge improvement on the Two Brewers with great food and a really nice decked area at the back. A great improvement for the area.

Last time I was in they had Pride and Spitfire on. The Spitfire was fine and even came in a beautiful Spitfire glass which i must say is a rareity in South London. Visited again this Friday to find they are guesting IPA. Again the beer was fine. A great night out was had. Live Jazz music in the bar area. Both the Restaurant area and the bar was jumping. Still can't believe this is the old (run down) Two Brewers. Will definately be back!

It's time for a more balanced report of the new Perry Hill. I have visited 4 times and each time the cask ales have been in wretched condition: tired and lifeless. The 'pub' side of the place no longer has any comfortable seating - just straight-backed dining chairs, and incovenient sofas. There used to be some lovely old banquette seating in here, but the new managers ripped it all out. There are areas of comfortable bench seating in the 'restaurant' side, but if you dare to sit there without ordering any food, you are told to move.
I won't be hurrying back, and I mourn the loss of yet another traditional old boozer.

Beautifully renovated and furnished in warm, aged wood. The winelist is good and sensibly priced, as is the excellent food - open kitchen area too so you can see what goes on.
This place is obviously aiming at the same clientele as the nearby Dolphin in Sydenham but beats it hands down on everything - ambience, price, quality of food (the fish and chips is to die for - though they could give you a few more of their chips!)and both competence and enthusiasm of staff.
I love this pub - it is a brisk 15 minute walk from my house but well worth the effort. Best pub in the neighbourhood by a long way.

just visted this one for the first time. Used to be the old Two Brewers. Must say the place looks beautiful inside. Good selection of beers (Super chilled Kronenboug Blanc on tap)Had a main course of Fish and chips which was simply brilliant. Restaurant was packed. This place will really be a big hit in the summer months. They have a huge decked garden area at that rear that must hold 150 people. Roll on the summer months

OK beer selection with both London Pride and Spitfire (though Spitfire ran out by 4.30pm) but the Sunday lunch I had there was quite simply stunning, possibly the best I have ever eaten. Great stuff and obviously a vast improvement on what went before.
