please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This used to be my favorite local for a late night pint. Used to because for the reason "it takes to much time", they have stopped serving pints after midnight. Surely it doesn't take any longer to serve a pint than it does to make one of those fancy cocktails they serve. It's probably money driven, they make much more money from the bottles (less beer for more money).

It's still a nice place with good music but please bring the pints back, also because those bottles don't tend to be cold later in the night.

When you get to see the Plump DJ's for 5.00, you could serve me a beer in a dirty shoe and I would still come back. Thankfully, the staff were fresh out of footwear so bottles of Budvar were the poison (which unfortunately were warming as the clock neared midnight as the cold fridge supply dwindled). The six shots for 12 I thought was an exceptionally reasonable price for white sambucca shots (not your average cheap "Corkys" rubbish as is often available on shot deals). Returning to my first statement, Plump DJ's for 5.00 - bring it on. Keep the grand line-ups coming.

I want to like the Westbury - I wouldn't mind a slightly trendier alternative to the sticky carpet joints in the area - but I just can't. It's ok if you just want to pop in and play some pool, but there's something about the combination of clientele and layout that puts me off. It's not a cosy pub - almost none of the seats are against walls so you constantly feel like something is going on behind you. Not to mention the crowd is a bizarre cross-section of society who all seem to share a common interest in posing. Nice try, but *just* missed the mark. I think it wanted to be a DJ bar in the vein of Bar Vinyl or the Social, but it's a little too... barn-like for that. Still, an improvement on the previous pub, which I believe someone was murdered in shortly before the buyout...

Ed chemical playing in my new local?! Ed chemical of the chemical brothers!!! Nuf said!
My night started innocently enough with a game of pool with the lads, misses came to join me for some food (the roasts are fit for a king!) and I discovered a new drink Gin-ginnie (well my misses did)
Will be back next week, and the week after, and the week after.........

Up until last night we (a regular group of 6+ people in NW2) had night opinions of the Westbury and loved to head over there for a few beers in the afternnoon or a sneaky game of monopoly midweek.

Given the great times we have had there, we decided to book a set of couches for 7pm for 12+ people for a friends birthday, however we did have some specific requests, below is what was they provided to us as per our requests.

It is important to note that we booked a week and a half in advance and we have it in writing the confirmation of our exact request.

"We want to have Birthday drinks for 12+ people, however, we dont want to be in a pub that is showing the rugby"
- "Thats OK, we will not be showing the rugby", however, when we arrived we found the whole Pub had been setup for the rugby game, when we asked why they told us the rugby wasnt on, they said they had only decided that day to show the rugby.

"A set of couches for 12+ people from 7pm"
- We got a Table for 6 right in front of the bar, we challenged the reservation we made, and they didnt want to help us, even though there were couches booked out already for 8pm and those customers didnt show up until 9.30pm. 1/2 our party had to stand for the whole night.

In addition to these issues, we also had the following:

- The service was terrible, the cocktails were poorly mixed and it took us 25 minutes to have our tab paid.

- As it was a birthday, we brought a cake along, they said we couldnt store it in their fridge or kitchen prior to serving it.

- They permitted the smokers to congregate in front of the large open windows, filling the pub with smoke.

- Some members of the crowd were heavily intoxicated (women) and wandered throughout the pub for 2 hours groaping people until they were finally evicted around midnight.

After our experience last night, we wont go back.

OK on the whole, very good. But I did laugh when the bartender had the audacity to point out to me that I had not left my change on the small silver tray by saying What no tip?? I simply replied What - 3.50 for a Kronenbourg in Kilburn??

Apparently these guys put the price of pints of lager up to drive out the old locals that used to frequent the place pre-refurb. I understand why these guys had to go but they could have at least got in some Pilsner Urquell or something equally prestigious.

Not my most comfy places if you're not playing pool, but impressive to look at. At it to the list of trendy pubs in Kilburn - at the lastest count theres now six (equal to the number of Irish pubs).

Recently re-opened under new management. The Westbury is now a marvel to look at. Gorgeous interior design and a stunning bar area, this site is now the place to be. I think Kilburn now has a gem in its once thorny crown.

Went past on the bus today. It's been renamed The Westbury and looks a bit gastro.
