Great pub! Love the new refurbishment... The selection of wines and beer is great, staff are friendly, and there have been some really good events. Will definitely be back!

This is no longer the Cross Kings, it is the Star Of Kings owned by the same people that run the Star of Bethnal Green. It's had a refirb but not in a poncey way, just nicer plus they've kept the gig room downstairs and added a shit hot sound system on both floors meaning it can be a raucous live/club night downstairs while still being a proper put upstairs. ALSO, got a new chef and menu and, only eaten there once, but the food was amazing. My mum loved it.

Reopened on 10th December 2010 following refurbishment and is now known as the Star of Kings.

More on this... I see from the listings etc freebie "SNIPE" Vol. 1, Issue 4, 1-31 August 2010 page 12 that the management claim a dispute with Enterprise Inns, and have give more info on the managment's Facebook page. "It is not known what Enterprise's plans for the building are" writes Daryl Chamberlain in the SNIPE piece. Another music pub is said in the article to be in nearly the same position.

Seems to be baorded up and no-one at home... any news on what's up?

Been to a couple of their music events over the last few months and been well satsified. Good selection of beers and lagers, large music room, offbeat atmosphere.
|
Conveniently located just to the north of Kings Cross station, this pub has a slightly chaotic but pleasant air about it, and seems to have lots going on in its various rooms. Had a good pint of Bombardier, and various guest beers make an appearance.

I use this pub at least once a month for a club night held in the cellar bar. I have always had good service from the friendly staff and they do a good pint of London Pride. The pub has a relaxed feel to it and I'm now using it whenever I am in the area.

The Cross Kings don't sell cans - are you sure you have the right pub?
|
Now here is an interesting pub. Very much like The Crobar in Soho. They both have the same style of comic decorations situated around the pub, also both are very keen on Red Stripe. It seems to be a tradition around certain parts of London to sell Red Stripe in cans.
Its also a music venue, which is badly disorganised. Payed £10 for a ticket only for them to allow people in for free! Could be improved.
