Pleasant pub hidden away in a back street off Bond Street.
Fullers ESB in very good condition, and not over expensive cosidering the location.

Considering this place is hidden away down an alley, when we visited around 6.30pm on a Friday evening it was absolutely packed with crowds spilling out in the pavement.
ESB went down nicely although not too much change from a fiver.
May pop in for a quiet pint at lunchtime but would seek out other nearby boozers in the evening.
Immaculate toilets, if that's going to convince you to make a detour there.

An OK Fullers pub, but in truth it gives off the aura of a place that could be so much more. The usual array of Fullers ales are well kept, but there's no character to the place at all, wood panelling all around, bored looking staff, too brightly lit late on, and barking clowns in suits making up the target audience. The Masons Arms is a better bet, a little way to the east.

Visited the Iron Duke last Tuesday lunch time whilst out shopping on the recomendation of a friend who works in the area. A very tidy little pub, nice selection of ales, away from the crowds, lunch was very good. Tricky to find down a back street, but worth the hunt. I'd recommend the chicken liver starter if your giving it a go...

There aren't many Fullers pubs in the West End that I am aware of so the Iron Duke is a bit unusual in that respect. It's a single L-shaped room with plenty of traditional seating and a nice quietish atmosphere (despite being near South Molton St).

There were six pumps but half were duplicates so choice was Discovery, ESB and Pride. Given the Fullers range is wider than this it seems odd not to have more variety - perhaps the volume of business doesn't support it.

All in all I liked the Iron Duke - not the best pub in Mayfair but certainly a good place for a pint after a pounding in the shops.

A fairly pleasent small Fullers house, My ESB was in tip top condition. If i worked close by i would deffinately make use of it, but hard to suggest it is worth a detour.

Pleasant small Fullers pub past the lower end of South Molton Street.

Late saturday afternoon visit, Nice very quiet pub tucked away from the busy area of Mayfair. A good selection of Fullers beers on offer and both the discovery and the chiswick were top notch.
I would guess it gets very busy when the footie is on as it has Sky TV so would probably avoid a visit during the footie season.

Very pleasant little Fullers pub, with nice range of ales on tap. Plenty of seating but can get quite full.

A good, off the beaten track watering hole and well worth a visit if you're slogging around the Oxford St and Bond St areas.

Quite liked this pub. The music was not intrusive, the seating at the back was pretty comfortable, friendly barmaid and excellent ESB. So, all in all a pretty decent pub. Worth a visit, and I expect I shall be back. Interesting comments by previous posters about its regularity as random pub of the day. And it hasn't even been called the Fullers Ale Lodge for ages - it's the Iron Duke of course!

I was thinking the same thing when I saw it again as the "Pub of the Day".

This is at least the third time in a fortnight this pub has appeared on random pub of the day! That is not random!! Because there is no discussion board about the BITE site I have to post this here, even though it is nothing to do with the pub.

Lovely place, it is full of the suits mentioned at times but nonetheless has a lot of charm and is well worth a visit.

Changed its name to the Iron Duke, still a Fuller's pub.

i really like this pub, but i don't know why; the beer is ok, it's nothing special to look at, it's full of suits. but i like it.

This pub is my local from work and it is fab! Carole (the landlady) is incredibly friendly and knows the regulars well. It's a cosy traditional English pub rather than the stuffy wine bar type that are creeping up all over London. If you've never been there - you should!

It gets very busy at lunchtime and after 6pm towards the end of the week. After 10 though, once the suits have left, its like the Mary Celeste! Oh, bring youreslf some sunglasses to protect your eyes from the barmans shirts!

Hidden away but popular with locals. The staff are friendly and the landlady, Carol is great fun.
