Appalling food that is seriously over-priced.
Always a disappointment despite the views.

It's a nice enough pub for a drink, with great views and well kept beer. We had problems when eating here. The food was all microwaved and none came with vegetables. The bill when closely inspected had an extra drink added to it. The staff were rushed and were not particularly attentive. It's a shame as it could be a really great pub.

I last went in here about 30 years ago as a small boy. Popped in on Sunday evening out of curiosity. It seemed a really nice, genuine old pub. Still has all the old wood fittings and separate areas inside. Staff were very friendly. Excellent garden overlooking the harbour

I have just been back to the Crown & Anchor, Chichester after nearly18 mths to find an amazing turn around! Before the lack of service and customer care and the food was zero. Now the service was 10 out of 10 along with the food. A great variety of fish dishes and something for everyone to enjoy! All the staff were smiling and attentive. We will be now coming back on a regular basis, at least once a week! Well done !!! A 10 out of 10 experience! Amazing view's 2nd to none!

Attractive old pub right on the harbour’s edge. Large floor to ceiling windows at the back make the most of the views across the water and there’s a small beer garden as well.
It’s a good sized pub with several different rooms, wooden flooring and some old beams. They do food all day. Barman seemed pretty useless, managing to get 50% of our order wrong (wrong size drink, wrong flavour packet of crisps).
Beers on offer were Young’s Bitter and London Gold, St. Austell’s Tribute and Wells Bombadier. The only cider was Strongbow unfortunately.

Recent midday week lunch visit....bar far too small for amount of customers, young bar-staff over-worked until a woman appeared to get things under control. Food was very ordinary, had to wait, and service was poor. This place is trading on a past reputation which it isn't living up to. The situation is not enough to get by with, and there are plenty of other pubs nearby with just as attractive views.

Things seem to be improving. The formerly miserable barmaid who seems to have worked there for years now smiles and engages with the customers, which is refreshing, and the food has improved. It's still disappointing, but better than it was.

This is a wonderfull pub with very clearly very hardworking staff!! It does get tremendously busy and the facilities available in the kitchen and bar are terrible. The staff do their best and 9/10 I have a very very enjoyable time. The pub has been owned by a holding company for a number of years who refused to invest any money into the building and only allowed minimal budgets for staff etc... Now youngs have brought the pub and things are improving, investment is being provided and staff numbers are increasing. It is a very profitable pub and a pleasure to drink and eat in!

A great pub in a fantastic location. On a summer evening with a stunning sunset across the creek there can be few finer places. The food here is good, and they stock a good range of beers, although we were slightly surprised to find Peroni oon tap being sold at £4 a pint, and when we asked why it was so expensive we were told it was because it's a very good beer, and being near Chichester people will pay high prices! So steer clear of the outrageously priced Italian lager and you'll have a cracking visit!

It's all very well saying sit back and enjoy the location, but when the pub is trading on it's location and being rubbish in the service and cleanliness department... My tiny hot chocolate was not hot and cost £2.00. The staff were unsmiling and ungracious, it took a long time to get served, and I overheard several complaints about the food being cold. Yes, the location is stunning, but this pub could be so, so much better then it actually is.

I live in London and this is by some way - my favorite pub in all the world i think the location is superb and the food/drink and staff are 100% quality.

I'm a fan of the Crown and Anchor. It is a stunning location, and the beer's well kept. The bar staff are generally extremely friendly, but it does get ridiculously busy on summer weekends, so it's not surprising that sometimes the service gets a bit haphazard. For goodness sake, sit back, enjoy the beer and the view and chill out. It's a waterside pub, not a McDonalds!

Great location... great outside space, but this pub is sadly let down by inefficient, inexperienced staff and seemingly no management whatsoever. It's not unusual to have to queue for ten minutes for a drink. Tables are sticky and dirty (inside and out). We have eaten here before, but the general 'don't care' ambience discourages that. Compared to other great well-run pubs in the area, this is such a waste - they must be losing money hand over fist! I'd like to know who actually owns the pub and why they're not taking action.
