Yeah, pretty good music venue. Music on every night if you can be bothered to get on down there. Chilled out. On last visit beer was generally Guinness, San Miguel, Budvar and Sol. Also crappy coors if your into it!

I've been a few times and seen a comedy night, a heavy Rock band on another occasion and acoustic acts on what i think is called an Unplugged night. For me this place has everything i like, never noticed anything wrong with the sound and i work in music, in fact i was eyeing up their snazzy system the other night. Bar staff were friendly and drinks prices were a comparable fair to the other pubs in town.Noticed they do quite a few rums. I picked up a listings that were handy, told me about what was on that month, quite a few free nights as well. Gonna pop in on a Friday as there is a free band on. I asked about the sound issues as i saw them mentioned in a comment here, the woman told me all the issues had been resolved. Got my Guilfest ticket for this weekend, but this venue in my eyes is a welcomed relief to the chain pubs in the town. Nice people, nice venue.

I like the new picture! Mmmmmmm Darkness galore

If it wasn't for all the emos, the irritating sound restrictions and the poor range of drinks (which are also pretty pricey) this place could be excellent. Guildford did need a place like this, just a shame it's missed the mark.

I concur with some of the points below, Flashy venue, ideal for the youngsters, without the chav brigade of other places. Hmmm well behaved people thats what I like to see, no messing - merely enjoying ones musical taste and such like oh what a delight.. Real Ale in short supply, no problem there is Bottled Foreign Lager!

The Boiler Room is essentially a music pub although it is located in quite a pleasant residential area. Music pubs generally tend to mean basic dark interiors, flourescent lights, poor selection of overpriced beers and a motley collection of indoe kids, metal heads and goths. The Boiler Room meets most of these criteria although prices are quite reasonable. The stage area is small and there are sevral awkward pillars that obscure vthe sight line but it is still a lot better than someothers that I won’t care to mention here. The building is very wheelchair friendly and it is obvious that some thought has gone into arranging the interior when the place was converted. An airlock leads through to a decent beer garden and ensures that no noise escapes to wake up the slumbering kids in the nearby houses. There is also a Thai kitchen which seemed to be doing a good take away trade when we were there as well as attract the local feline colonies. All in all, a pretty decent place for what it is.

Surely one of the top places to go in Guildford. Excellent bands like The Velvet Hearts often play here.

Guildford has been screaming out for a venue for live music for quite somtime. however how well it will do is another thing, as people in this town are far too stuck in their ways (ie always drinking in the same few pubs) with that in mind i wish sucess for the boiler room. i have been there a couple of times recently and think its fantastic. the first occassion was a local band and the second was a electronica/dance night. on both nights i wasnt dissapointed, it may be a small venue but it only adds to the atmosphere. the staff are safe, bouncers as bouncers go are nice and friendly and above all reasonable. the place looks fantastic and the drinks arnt too expensive
all in all a great night out. get there late tho

Yeah, it's a bit small, and yeah, there's not much in the way of seating, but frankly my jeans are too tight for me to sit down. I prefer to dance anyway.
I'd much rather spend my money here than in some big faceless nightclub.
It's great to have a venue for new bands to play in. I've really enjoyed the couple of nights I've spent here and come pay day I'll be back again!
I prefer places that are off the beaten track a little bit.

small - full of 18 year olds - no tables - too far out of town - seem like nice people though.

I love this new venue! How come guildford hasn't had a decent live venue before??? It looks cool, the beer's reasonably priced and the music rules!!! I saw dylan rhymes there the other week, can't wait for the next breaks night...
That's 10/10 for me :D

This new music venue has already got very popular. Most nights starts at 7pm and go onto 11 or 12 Prices range from around 3 pounds to 5. The downsides would be the drinks range is rather basic. Mostly lager on offer. Also sitting space is minimal, more of a place for standing up or dancing
