Visited just recently and, found the building closed at 11-50hrs,some lights on but, no sign of life.So unable to gain access and,try the food and drink.Looks a bit out of place,a modern built pub in an old village setting..A glance through the windows didn,t really inspire..If your in the selling game you have to be open to do it,even if it was only a coffee and, or the chance to have a look round and browse the menu..Maybe give it another whirl, but with so many opening early in the good weather etc, could be along time..

This pub has new management and its full of atmosphere. The beers and wines have been updated and the steaks are excellent quality for money. Lyn and John have completly transformed this place into a quality Country pub that is a must for any traveller to visit. Everyone is welcome here and even the locals are friendly.
They also have regular music and quiz nights, the information is displayed on the board outside the carpark.
I can honestly say that this pub is the best by far.

A major refurbishment on the inside. Dark polished wood, arrays of wine bottles, mirrors, zofting blondes. Everything you don't expect in a somerset village pub

New owners (managers?) are Lionel and Leathea who have the Globe at Cannington. All the very best to you, I hope it works out for you.

The village hall has opened its bar to the public so that there is someplace to drink. I found it very, very enjoyable and I applaud the the community effort.

I decided to check it out. The pub is available from Punch if you want to make a difference and run your own pub. Do it!

I heard from a friend this place is closed.

A short diversion from a canal side walk.
Just about worth it if you're desparate for a drink.
Otherwise a bit of a dump.

I've been walking in that area a couple times since then and the ale hasn't been very good. I've met some nice people in there. The place isn't going to win any beauty awards, but my previous visits were enjoyable.

For once I find myself disagreeing with YoYo. Yes the one member of staff on hand was friendly but what a hole. The decor and seating, certainly in the bar area, is well nuff said really and I swear I shot a good percentage of the locals recently on Resident Evil 4.

I've stopped in here twice now. Wednesday lunch and they had live music! The landlady is very welcoming and it is great stop for the canal.

Friendly staff with a bit of a 'local' feel in the bar area. Visited outside of cooking time but the menu looked hopeful and the eating area was spacious. Abbot ale was served well. Handy for the canal.
