Was back at this hotel bar for another function yesterday. It hasn't improved much from my previous visits. St Austell Cornish Best & Marstons Pedigree were the beers.

Failed ro ask if I was a resident of the Imperial Hotel when ordering on both occasions so did not receive a discount. Food good and have real ales.

Return visit to this hotel bar yesterday, as we had a function in the hotel. Following on from my last review, the bar was down to just 1 ale on this visit - Adnams Jubilee. Not really worth staying here for a session.

I was surprised that this modern hotel bar served real ales. But low and behold they had 3 - Greene King IPA, Morland Original and Hardy & Hanson's Rocking Rudolph. Most tables have views over Russell Square through the large windows. There's better places near here. But this is better than I expected when walking in.

Before reading the last couple of reviews I hadnt realised that this is a hotel bar (or affiliated with a hotel), but now I understand why the seating out the front was mobbed with northern tourists drinking Tetleys Cask whilst making rude comments to passing pedestrians. Abbot Ale was also available, but the Pride was off no worries though as Old Speckled Hen was available on draught!

Ill not be returning here as there are far better drinking establishments in the area for those who dare to leave the main road.

Had a couple of very drunken nights in here (it's one of those places you go because it's open later than everywhre else). It could be more glamorous considering it's location in Russell Square but it is what it is..a bar in a hotel that isn't the best hotel but the staff are pretty friendly and I've been in much worse places.

Horrible, soul destroying and overpriced place in the middle of the tourist area around Russell Square. I really hate to think that overseas visitors go in here and think it is typical of an English pub.

Lager was ok, grub was better than expected.
It was cold inside especially next to the veranda doors even when they were shut and this was in july.
The bar was open till 1 oclock and as we were staying in the adjoining hotel we didnt have far to roll home.
