a truly excellent pub with friendly staff top quality ales and the facility to taste before committing to a pint! Cannot fault!

Still as good with new owners/managers. Five beers two regulars three guests, we only had two but both excellent condition. Good atmosphere and nice welcome, couple of free sandwiches on Saturday night. They are doing food, not sure exactly what or when though. The old pool room appears to be for eating now.

The best pub for real ale in the neighbourhood. I look forward to a session whenever I'm visiting Thurlstone.

A superb pub with a very friendly landlady and landlord. The beers are well kept and the free food on sunday is a nice touch, worth a small donation into the charity bottle. Cant fault it.

A pleasant little boozer with a pleasant little garden out back, made excellent by the efforts of the landlord & lady, who have really embraced the idea of a 'local' while keeping a warm welcome for anyone visiting for the first time. As well as a fine, regularly changing selection of ales (Taylors' Landlord is a staple) they serve good quality, well-priced food, have no jukebox or fruities, and have something going on most nights of the week - quizzes, music jam nights (all welcome to participate) and, on Sunday afternoons, free food! - given away by Dave, an enthusiastic cook. The decor is a bit horse-brassy, but there's not a great deal of fault to be found with this lovely neighbourhood (sadly not mine) pub.
