Seems to have had a big makeover since my last visit.

very smart.

There's some stiff competition for your beer pound in Coniston.

Called in September 2011. The beer was good but limited in choice. Good range of food on offer and was quickly served and tasty. Could be the best pub in Coniston

A Robinson's Pub well used by locals and tourists alike. Beer was drinkable...just, with a choice of three Robinson's beers. Food looked okay with healthy portions.

I love this pub. Much the nicest in the area, and not too pricy. Excellent food too :-)

Not bad. Hartleys XB that I tried was a bit tired, but drinkable. Didn't try the Cumbrian Way as I had it last year and it was nasty. Food is a plus point though. I got scampi and I got loads-not a bit of scampi and loads of chips, but loads of scampi and a few chips. Great value. Mrs Clods enjoyed her lasagne. A much better experience than the last few years in The Crown. Maybe someone reads theses reviews????

Actually the Hartleys XB and Cumbrian Way (2.60 each) were pretty good. Barstaff were friendly. Rating revised upwards.

Went on two occasions to catch a bit of football , the pub itself is nice and the beer was good but the staff were so slow and miserable and as for the Ronnie Corbett double who i assume is the manager do us a favour serve people and get rid of the Doris who frowns at everone!

Not as bad as some say, though where they find dog-rough clientele is a bit of a mystery. Good place to stay.

Visited this pub on Sunday 3rd August 2008, we decided to have have a meal with our beer & opted for the Sunday roast, bad idea ! I asked for turkey. When it arrived it resembled brown pork & tasted nothing like turkey, I asked landlord if a mistake had been made & he assured me it was turkey. Needless to say I did not eat my meal & complained. The landlord was not helpful at all & all he said was he would pass my complaint onto chef. The pub itself is nice. A MESSAGE TO ROBINSONS, change your landlord, change your chef & you may be onto a winner.

Not the best beer in the village! true no atmosphere, i think it would be better re-arranged inside, cant really get comfortable in there! SKY sports is good for the footy though!

Generic food-oriented pub with no atmosphere.

This pub must be the biggest in coniston (outside),they show sky footy which is good , but i must say the beer is the worst iv EVER tasted , please clean your pumps out, i would drink here more if a decent pint,i even went to the locals social pub (by invite from one of the locals, very friendly people , i had never met him before but invited my family for a drink and to watch the footy) a pub like the crown , for me, is sitting outside on a sunny day with a bottle of wine, and a packed lunch , give the lager a miss !! shame its a nice pub .

Bizarrely had no name or sign on the wall outside, though it was clearly a pub. Has sky sports and hartleys (robinsons) real ale. The cheapest of Coniston's pubs.
