Small pub, always worth a pint of Harveys on a crawl though. Nice staff.

Decent hostelry barely a stones throw away from the station. Scoundrels wielding chairs and Belgian beer aside, it was decent enough. I assume the chat with the priest didnt go well for the scoundrel.

Quaint little hostelry. Smallish on the inside, but popped in on a weekday morning making it pretty much empty at the time but suited the mood on a day off.
The barmaid was friendly enough, but we all had to deal with a drunken geezer who came in asking for a lost bag, who said he'd been in drinking the night before with a priest, who then turned into an official claiming he was going to shut the pub down, and then finally began picking up tables and chairs and twirling them around outside, all while happily downing his bottle of Leffe beer. Once I saw the beer I knew he wasnt a man of the cloth or an official, the scandrel! A happy morning in Brighton town!

Cosy enough little pub on the main road up to the station, reasonable selection of beers, prices about par for the area. In a rare move for the local area it also shows the football, so worth visiting over other superior pubs in the local area if there's a match you want to see on at the time. Other than that, your money might be best directed to one of the myriad other good pubs within easy walking distance.

decent pub to sit and watch the world go by. Harveys was ok.

Average pint of Harveys Sussex and not that welcoming. Sat outside

Having walked out of the Queens Head because of the filthy toilets; and I mean filthy! What a contrast only yards away.
A small, but clean and welcoming place. Recommended.

Fairly nondescript sort of place and should do better being so close to the station, although it does have a lot of competition. The exterior was having a bit of a paint job when I was there and it could certainly do with it, it needs brightening up.

I've lived here for 35years and went in here for the first time this week. I think it is a smashing little pub, it's amazing how it is tucked away in a major street and very easy to walk by without even noticing it there. I would say the 'pub' is more of a bar and so might have few regulars, but it serves a purpose well and is worth a visit whilst visiting the many great pubs around the station. The big windows ensure that the pub is inviting and you know what you are getting into before you walk in - good for nervous people. I would have no qualms about returning for another pint or two.

A very quiet place, alright if your passing through but other wise not a local local's, here you're just another customer, a little pricey compared to other pubs around.

Pop into this one whilst waiting for my Chinese Takeaway from next door. Always seem very quiet when I go in.It's not bad in there for a quiet "cheeky pint".

I have noticed that this place takes some flak from other sites and I dont thik it deserves it. I dont know what experiances others have had here but mine have all been good. I visit occasionaly and it is a wonderfull place to people watch. On a Saturday afternoon you have never seen so many beautifull women walk past. Its a nice old pub, the biggest problem is that it's on the station, club street route and so can fill up with stag night arseholes from, wherever (not always London). If this pub was 200 yards away in one of the back street it would be one of Brightons hidden secrets that everyone raves about. PLEASE, enjoy while it's here.

used to be run by Cliff. Gone up market & down hill since his departure.
