I have just read a comment from the landlord which I would like to correct. I am the gentlemen referred to in his comment. I am not partnered and never have been with his ex Di she is just a friend. This delusion of his lead to him barring me from the pub and assaulting me which he has been cautioned by the police for. He is an unstable, lazy and devious person who will serve you cheap wine bottled into Shepherd Neame labled bottles. You will know if you have been conned as he will pocket your money or not ring it through the till. Do not run up a tab. The food is not fresh it is prepacked or frozen, My recommendation is for you to go the The Rose and Crown in Hartlip where you will get treated with respect as a customer and their drinks and food are first rate. I stand by everything I have written as true.

The last comment by dolly 66 is the ex landlady Di NIcholls trying to discredit The Harrow .please come and judge for yourself and don't be put off by a bitter and twisted landlady or her new partner Peter Allen

Hope to see you soon

I would just like to let you know that Di is no longer at the pub.....which is a huge shame because it has gone down hill since she was thrown out! The beer is not nice and the food is not the same! I was in the pub a while ago and a poor customer left with dog mess on his shoe....having just eaten a meal in there! I will be avoiding this pub at all costs from now on!!

I would like to advise everyone that The Harrow has now been taken over by Roy and Di! We took over this 200 year old pub in August 2013. We are a family orientated pub and welcome dogs. We serve traditional pub food daily from 12.00pm to 8.00pm Monday to Saturday and Sunday 12.00pm to 5.00pm Sunday. We hold Thai Nights every 2 weeks where we have a Thai Chef come in and cook for us and every 3rd Friday of the month is our Fish and Chip night. If you wish to join us for either if these evenings it is best to book early as we get booked up quickly. To book telephone 01795842546.

We look forward to welcoming you all very soon.

Sadly seems to have gone badly down hill over last year. Food not as it used to be - often closed without any apparent reason and rumours abound about Landlord's increasingly odd behavoir. Many patrons seem to have defected to the Rose & Crown at Hartlip. All very sad for the locals and Shepherd Neame who deserve better and used to keep it alive. Currently not recommended under this tenancy.

Fell over this pub after getting lost, so was very pleased to find a friendly welcome, lovely well kept Shepherd Neames beers and a decent Sunday lunch for 7.50. No pretentions, this is a nice ordinary village pub, still run by the anglicised frenchman mentioned in previous review by javelin05. Definitely worth a detour off the A429.

Didn't serve food on a Sunday evening as previously reported but did serve good food & good quality Shep,Neame beers, so still worth a try.

New landlord (anglicised frenchman) from Autumn 2006 has given this small charming pub a new lease of life, including starting a quiz night every Wednesday from Feb 28 2007 for teams up to 6 people. Unusually, even serves food Sunday evenings. Give it a try!

This pub is a village pub just off the A429 betwen J7 on the M20 and J5 on the M2 if ever you are journeying that way you do well to take your break here. It is only 5 minute from the main road. It is a very small village and this is the pub. They sell good Shepherd & Neame Ale. The dining room is small and clean. The prices seem a bit high but the menu looks good. I only had time for a ham sandwich; the ham had been delivered by the local butcher and cooked in the pub. Need I say more? I will definately go back.
