please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Having visited at almost the same time last year and gave a favourable review I was stunned on my latest visit to find this pub has turned into a “crap hole”.

It was very busy on my latest Thursday evening visit with everyone drinking (it was 9.30pm), not sure if food had stopped being served but there was no one eating.

3 ales on which were Fuller’s London Pride, Breakspears bitter and Hobgoblin. The grumpy looking barmaid (maybe the same one from last year) asked me what I wanted so I ordered and then she asked me again! The pint of Breakspears she pulled was very flat so I asked for another pint and at that point was told by the manager the pint was perfect…what a dick. I asked it to be changed for a pint of Pride and it was, the Pride was drinkable but still not great…I then poured the flat pint away while the manager looked at me in horror, I’m sure he was going to sell it to the next punter!

We stayed for just over an hour for while for our train and every pint of Pride I had was drinkable.

Now to the clientele, I'm unsure why this pub has changed but there were a lot of men and women all clearly locals and they were drunk, loud and quite aggressive….this gave the whole place an intimidated feel and though I wasn’t directly threatened it didn’t give me a pleasant experience.

Apparently earlier in the evening the food was good but still the service was poor, that’s from a pal who ate there.

Popped in on Thursday night after football @ Beckenham Town FC

Busy outside with a large party of blokes enjoying their selves and drinking heavily.

3 ales on the pumps which were Fuller's London Pride, Brakespear's Bitter & St Austell Tribute. The pints of Tribute I had were good but the service from grumpy bar maid was awful, she really didn’t look like she wanted to be there.

Nice enough pub, being a Toby Carvery it's very food orientated but it's very handy for the train station and a nice enough place to while away time waiting for the train.

This is an M&B chain pub. I,m a local though don't drink in pubs often.
What I have done is to take friends and family here for Christmas Day Dinner for the last 4 years.

It has always been a clean tidy traditionally decorated pub. Very comfortable and cozy. The staff have been on the ball and polite. The carvery meats have always been first class, and the Xmas trimmings very good.
There seem to be lots of lagers on sale but sadly only three real ales. (All acceptable and varied on each of my visits).
I have booked for Christmas Day and again the following week for the Carvery lunches.

More like an open prison/crche for the socially feeble than a pub or restaurant. Loud, warm, sticky and thoroughly charmless - think Vanessa Feltz after a gym session.

Caveat edax.

Once a fortnight, for the last three years, I've accompanied a group of care home residents for a carvery lunch to this carvery.. Everyone has enjoyed the food - no one has had food poisoning. The attention and good humour shown by staff to these often frail and vulnerable people is excellent.

As this pub is in my local area I pop in from time to time, the beer is very cheap however once you have been to one Toby Carver you have been to them all. Nothing wrong with the pub but it lack's in character and seems to be a place where you go to purchase cheep beer. The food is ok however still mass produced. Be careful if you are going to leave your car in the car park overnight as I have had my car broken in to twice whilst I have left it parked there. Also you have to inform the bar staff that you will be leaving it there otherwise it will be clamped.

Over all I would choose another place to drink, I would say that the pub is only suitable for people that will meet there for a few drinks before going for a meal elsewhere. Purely because the choice of good ales is limited and it is always packed with heavy drinkers looking for a bargain.

The staff were very friendly , the beer garden was very nice and the beer was very cold , they do grub but I wasnt hungry.....

I will gladly be dropping back to this nice pub ........

Came in hear on a sunday night and was surprised to see a pub with a good atmosphere. The mood is relaxed and has an authentic feel which many local pubs n shirley and west wickham don't have. The drinks are well priced and ther is a good selecton of bitter and lager. The only downer is that the bar staff don't use hardly any vodka in their cocktails. However I enjoyed my time and will be returning!!! You wouldn't know this pub is part of a restuarant!!! Good clientelle, good staff and good beer so what more could you ask for!!!

Good selection of beers but attached to a toby carvery so not really a pub arranged in the proper sense.

Bizarelly attached to a Travel-lodge. So Eden Park is a tourist honey-pot then.

I like this pub if i want a quite drink. Good selection of beers. Not alot of alcipops tho, i think they only had 2.

Quite strict on I.D, was in there the other night and the girl behind the bar was I.Ding everyone. Felt sorry for her because she was the only one doing it, and being called horrid names for it!

Staff are pleasant, not very much of an atmosphere tho, but on sundays having to wait 2 hours for your table is I think just a way to make money!

Younger clientele, but nonetheless a decent atmosphere. A little pricey for my liking, especially with the Goose just up the road, but a better atmosphere and a large seating area for when the sun's out. Can get busy though, especially on evenings and weekends, and I think the Langley Park school kids drink here a lot. Clean and quite airy and not bad for a pint nonetheless, although I'd not spend too long in here if I were on a night out.

In there last night. Would be nice if the Bar Staff were trained before being let loose on Joe Public. It was clear that one of them was not familiar with bar work (though she tried hard - Bless) - of course she was left on her own for long periods, so getting a drink took rather longer than it should - even though the place was hardly heaving.

Very little atmosphere - bland decor - few chavs playing fruit machines and some dreadful piped 70's music. Not one to recommend I would have to say!!

Not the best pint I've ever had - but ok I guess (reasonable price for the area). Never much atmosphere in the bar - poss because a lot of folk in the place are there for the Carvery. Usual bunch of 16-17 year old chavs playing the fruit machines though sadly.

Layout of the place is ok - shame the beer 'garden' faces onto the main road and lacks any grass - but makes up in exhaust fumes - which is nice!!

Its really the only 'pub' in the area - hence my visits (infrequent though they are) - it just needs a kick up the a**e.

Normal sort of Toby Carvery, lots of comfy seating inside and outside, with real ale served and plenty of affordable food.
