A lovely traditional warm and friendly pub ......... well it was! We visit the place everytime we are in Cornwall, but this year we found a new landlord in situ. Obviously any change of tennant brings a change of atmosphere, but the London Inn had definately gone downhill quite dramatically. Actually the landlady was everything you would expect in terms of customer service, it was the landlord himself that was the problem. "2 customers here want serving" says she. He proceeds to blank us and start tidying up the chiller cabinet. "Do you do accomodation" we asked. A sharp "yes" was the reply (the last landlady took us straight up to veiw a room, explained the tarrif, advised on how early to book etc, etc). To be fair, it was his first May Day, (the most hectic weekend of the year) and he was probably feeling the stress, but in a customer facing role you really have to put yourself above all that and ensure the paying public are wanting to return time and time again. Hopefully by this time next year he will have settled in. Last year I would have given the pub an 8.5, this year its a 5

A real tradition boozer in a town full of slightly underwhelming pubs in my experience. It's not bad, and the beer (St Austell's) was ok. The welcome was a bit reserved though and I left with the impression that this is a locals place.

DEFINITELY! underflippinglined...

A good pub; I thought it might be a bit too 'local', but it was friendly enough and the beer was in good condition.Definitely the best pub in Padstow

my pint of HSD was not quite right, I was only in the once so may have got the bottom of the barrell, seemed like a decent place though

Very good, friendly pub. if you're lucky the Wadebridge vocal choir might be in the bar having a sing-song! Good beer, pleasant service

A locals pub that tolerates tourists. Clean, pleasant and decent real ale.

Nice welcome, and good choice of drinks for a small pub. Had a sandwich as it was lunchtime and couldn;t fault it, however its hard to get a sandwich wrong.
Toilets clean

The London Inn- pub lovers must go, even if only once.

Easily the best pub in Padstow. Didn't eat here but food looked nice. Beer well kept and staff very friendly

Great pub, as described here. A real pub, not pretentious.

My favourite pub in Padstow. A relaxed atmosphere with locals coming and going talking about boats and fishing, great food (cheapest lobster in Padstein) and well-kept tasty real ale.

Decent pint. Scruffy locals pub with easy going atmosphere.

Good to visit this establishment again after eight years to find nothing changed. Old fashioned and nicely shabby pub down a side street. HSB was excellent served by the friendly landlord dressed in shorts in October!
