excellent pub great Beers and 3 diferent bars adds to the atmosphere. i am slightly biased my wife works behind the Bar

Not a bad pub. I enjoyed the atmosphere, beer, beer snacks and decoration, however once you decide to use the toilet it is like walking through a magic door which puts you in the red light district, amsterdam. The machines in there offer more sex toys and viagra than real ales on pump. Its ok though i drink lager, but not through a dick-shaped straw.

i go to this pub about once a month and usually on a friday, the live bands are brilliant but the last two times it's been a bit crap. I think the atmo is good and people seem freindly enough and they always seem up for a laugh. The bear in this gaff too is top notch not any of that watered down stuff, a bit dear also but worth it for the quality you get.

This pub was really good for live bands friday and saturday, but seems lately to have gone down hill slightly, perhaps its due to no smoking? It was always rammed weekends but now you can get to the bar easily, with at least four staff fighting to serve you. Perhaps they could do with some younger bar staff who would give you a smile now and again!!

gotta say that I have taken my kids to this pub more than once as it's my dads local and I can honestly say that despite a couple of wrong 'uns it's a very friendly place and the beers top notch.

beermeup.trust me, there are better places to watch the footy than this little hellhole.....glad to see that there is someone else out there with taste, and who doesnt see this pub as "utopia", but thats the small minded arses that regularize the pub

I can't dispute the 'friendly' tag given to this pub seeing as I've been offered coke twice in the toilets by complete strangers here. Alright for watching the footy but thats about it.

Friendly boozer. Good beer. Good mix of ages. Nice to see that this pub has kept the 3 bar layout. Recommended.

obviously anyone who has already posted comments on this site has not had the misfortune to find themselves a target of a hate campaign from the regulars of this pub...beware...all is not as it seems as the royal oak
