On an island next to the station redcorated and open plan but retaining that Shep's pub style. The Sptifire was drinkable, worth dropping in to as there is precious little else nearby.

What a shame about this formerly fantastic pub. Such bad reviews. I would have called in but on New Years Day it did not open until 3.00 pm. There seems to be a list of strange opening hours on the door.

Now thankfully closed down.

This has to be one of the worst pubs in Cha'um. At 6.30pm excrutiatingly loud 'music' and the strangest of knuckledragging customers. Beer was OK but I couldn't wait to finish it to get outside for some relief.

This is an ok pub near chatham railway station that serves a decent pint but is very expensive.
also beware as I fancied a bottle of magners in there and was charged 3.75
The barman was pretty apathetic and was reading a book when I arrived not looking interested at all.
ok to take your girlfriend for a chat or go on a date but not a pub I would spend a night in with my mates.

Imposing wedge-shaped corner pub, somewhat left on its own by previous road schemes demolishing its neighbours. Busy enough in mid-afternoon, but the barman seemed more interested in his laptop (and later reading a novel) than serving pesky customers. Pleasantly light interior from the windows on three sides. Four handpumps, two Master Brew plus Spitfire and an excellent Early Bird. Currently looking for a new tenant, and it shows with the staff issue, but a reasonable stop near Chatham train station.

not a bad old pub near the station so you can get out quick after a pint of shepherd and screem bitter

Stop off here for a few drinks whenever I see my mate who live close by.

Clean, cheerful pub which remains open till late.

A nice, friendly pub which is almost out of place in the
immediate area.

Very good food at a fair price - I hear the current landlord is leaving which is a great pity because this really is a decent place to go for a relatively quiet pint and something to eat and I hope the new owner keeps things as they are.

The staff are polite, helpful and friendly. The people drinking there all seem good-natured and there for the same reasons. The interior is traditional with a quiet jukebox and fruit machine and it all seems quite cosy for the location.

Overall, well worth a look and one of the better pubs in the area.

This pub really surprised me! It's great in there! If I was going home from a journey, or stopping off for a few relaxing beers I'd definitely go in here. It sometimes seems quite "dead" in here, but I've seen people playing some pub games inside... and on a Sunday it attracts some bikers it seems which is not a bad thing because they seem like a cool bunch of people. Not sure about the food will have to try that out if they have any on offer! Unusual location - but just give it a go.

Unusual road locked location with very well kept Sheperd Neame beers. I stopped off having just arrived Chatham train station, OK atmosphere, no unfriendly glares which can be a hallmark of many a Medway pub.

I popped in with my family recently, and was impressed by the juke box, beer and staff, great little pub.

Typical Sheps local, open plan local, beer OK

The Alexandra Hotel is a Shepard Neame pub situated opposite the local railway station. I paid a lunch hour visit today (Jan 27th) and was impressed enough. The beer was served in top condition and the place had a light, airy and most relaxing feel to it. Seemingly, it has recently being refurbished and the interior was neat and tidy as a result. There is a small, cosy conservatory section for dining and a half-decent little beer patio for those summer months. Incidentally, the pub was in the local newspaper this week after winning Shepard Neames most improved pub of the year award. I dont know if that means it wasnt so good before, but its certainly worth a visit now. Recommended.

Shepherd Neame house a stone's throw from Chatham station, so very convenient for killing time befroe a train journey. Several Sheps beers on handpump, the Masterbrew was in superb condition. Pleasantly lively atmosphere even at 10pm on a tuesday. My only complain was the rather overpowering smell of fried food being served to other customers.

Pleasant large single bar Shepherd Neame pub on a traffic island near Chatham station. This was built in Victorian times as the railway hotel, and still has some of that minor grandeur of provincial railway hotels. Attractive background music (The Doors) played at a gentle volume. Good value pub grub (sausage & mash, English breakfast) served at lunchtime. A light, airy and relaxed place. Nice.

Live music every Sunday afternoon. Weekly quiz nights. Excellent food. Winner of the Shepherd and Neame Best Cellar Award last month. Great jukebox and friendly staff. The best pub in Chatham!

Near the train station, quite a nice pub, maybe an undiscovered gem? Plays live music sometimes.
