Popped in yesterday (10/12/11). Four beers on. Had the Maxim Double Maxim which was excellent. Great roaring fire to keep away those winter chills. Not very busy, but then it was a Saturday afternoon.

I believe it has now been chucked out of the Good Beer Guide, what a waste Punch have a good reputation for Real Ale normally.

Went a couple of Sundays ago about 13.00, only person in. Some people later came for food - non available kitchen closed, what a state to let this previous great pub to get in. Kayleigh has gone - dont blame her.

Great pub but as with many other Punch taverns overpriced to tenants who are about to leave. Kayleigh behind the bar is a gem - I hope she stays on with the new mugs - sorry tenants.

Not so hard to find as about 200 yards behind huge B&Q store.

Well worth a visit and ideal start point for crawl as only walking distance from other Real Ale pubs.

The new management team of Paul & Gillian will no doubt enhance this Gem of a Pub even further.

An ideal Pub for the Brewlab clientel to visit.

Definitely worth going out of your way to find. The Saltgrass is an excellent pub with well-kept real ales, a cosy welcoming atmosphere and very good food.

What areal pub should be and the only one of it's kind in Sunderland. Cosy, friendly and the regular haunt of groups as diverse as Mod revivalists and glass blowers and stained glass makers

A great, great pub... excellent real ales, good food 4 nights a week and the best chips in the North... great bar meals on the afternoon.

Friendly staff, friendly locals and music sometimes too.

Hard to find, off the beaten track but well, well worth the search.
