Great small pub to visit in the city, the bar is exceptionally clean, staff very friendly and efficient and prices are consistent with other pubs in the area.
Highly recommended...........

Attractive bar staff = high prices. 3.5% Hooky Guest Ale - £4.30, Fosters/Carling £4.00, unbelievable - Greene King owns the pub IPA £3.80, will not return

I discovered this pub recently. A very pleasant change from some of the chav infested haunts nearby. Choice of three real ales besides the usual lagers that pubs have to sell to survive these days. The Greene King IPA is a fixture but there are two guests which change regularly unlike many pubs who have the same guests (usually London Pride and ANO). Beers well kept which is often not the case. There is a traditional bar downstairs and a more trendy one upstairs. I did not try the food but it looked and smelt good. Recommended!

Me doth think that ye Suffolkfarmboy is a yokel employed at the Punch?
He must be cheap and backward, far cheaper and sillier an an Easten European to employ at that drinkers dreg hole.
Away back to your fields of Suffolk fool. You could'nt possibly judge a great and well run bar as the St.Bride's tavern over the Punch.

Good efficient service, but very expensive food, 15 for a wrap some chips and pint! Give us a beak - How about some cheap lunchtime offers - This is a recession after all! 5/10

I like this pub. Had a choice of 3 beers all well kept. Pub is small but clean. Service was very quick and efficient.

Clean. Well Served beer. Great food. Unlike the "Hoop & Grapes" up the road.

This pub is a dear friend around the corner from us and we love it!

If we had more time for staff drinks we would go here more often!

Keep up the good work!

If you're in the area, definately well worth a visit. Now doing regularily changed Guest Ales, (Cask Masque award 3 years running), food is always predictably great, you can rely on this one for the best in service too. What more do you need.

Very friendly staff. Downsatirs bar is traditional, upstairs bar/function room is modern and recently refurbished. Good beer (Abbott & IPA) and the buffet food at a recent do was excellent and well-priced.

really good pint, friendy staff and very clean(everywhere)seems like a local place for those working in the vicinity but we didnt feel out of place not in a suit, and were made to feel very welcome.will go back.

Don't judge this reasonable little pub by its horrid 60s frontage and inauspicious location off New Bridge Street. Service is friendly and serves an excellent pint of IPA - I was drinking upstairs and the barmaid offered to have it sent up in the lift. Worth a visit.

Was there 2 nights ago, had tea, a beef Stew, was very tasty. Beers aren't very exciting if only this was a Fuller's pub

Sorry to say that I wasn't terribly impressed. A nice little room for the bar at ground level, but the atmosphere in the room was distinctly one of "business lunchers"--I was the only male customer not in a suit and tie, and the man and woman behind the counter did nothing to change my sense that I'd intruded somewhere I wasn't terribly welcome.

Beer-wise, nothing good or bad to say. It's Greene King--you pretty well know what you're getting when you walk in the door. Embrace the bland name or drink elsewhere.

Under New management by a great couple. This little hidden treasure and has been cleaned up and sorted. Food is superb. Upstairs and downstairs Bars. Upstairs perfect for our Christmas Party. I Like!
