So sad to see such a once great pub falling apart. Invariably most beers are "off" despite being advertised as on offer and the toilets are basically disgusting and the public bar is filthy. Having said all that the staff are trying their best in impossible circumstances and try hard to make you feel welcome. A near impossible task when the brewery/landlord don't appear to give a toss.

The prices have gone up to the point where it is the most expensive pub in Christchurch with the exception of Soho.

Having said that the food deals are excellent value and the few remaining customers seem to thoroughly enjoy them.

Now becoming seriously decrepit with the toilets being in particularly poor condition (A bucket is positioned under a leaking pipe). You have to wonder if this place is being deliberately run down by the Pubco as they look for an excuse to close it down. Oh and 3.05 for a pint of Ringwood Best is risible.

A proper pub and one of my favourites in Christchurch. Staff are friendly and amusing and beer is always good. Launderette just across the road so handy if you need to do the washing!

Wonderful pub with friendly Landlord, staff and locals. Best pub in Christchurch well worth stopping in for a pint (or two).

Can't fault the Royalty - good beer, great food and friendly staff. I like the way it still has the feel of a 'two bar' pub about it, with one area devoted to the local anglers and Royalty Fishery.

Yeah I really like this place. Traditional style pub. My mrs doesn't like it because everyone smokes but, hey, it is a pub.

Concur with all the remarks made by Seasider and would just like to add that the landlord is very friendly and chatty as well.
