please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

4 of us visited here on a Sunday evening, as most other pubs around Baker Street were shut after the football at Wembley.

From the outside The Perseverance looked very inviting inside it was pretty empty and extremely soulless. A central u shaped bar looks far too big for the pub and out of place, the decor is described as sparten at best.

Only one ale on which was Doombar, it tasted okay and was drinkable.

Not a pub I think I'll ever return to however the barmaid was extremely friendly.

I first tried to visit here a few years ago on a Saturday lunchtime. But for some reason, it was closed. I persevered (no pun intended) and finally found it open on a Thursday evening. It was fairly busy outside with smokers and their drinking companions. Inside was a bit quieter. The interior did feel a bit cold and unwelcoming. Although service was quick and friendly. Judging by the pumpclips, two beers appeared to be on - Doom Bar & Cumberland Ale. Although the latter was actually off. Cider was Stowford Press. It's been on my list of pubs to try for ages. But I doubt I'll be back.

Its a pity this pub can't be re-rated since the new owners took over in late 2010. It is a gorgeous, unpretentious, and elegantly redecorated pub which now boasts an amazing menu. We were keen to get down there when it opened as we know of Justin Aubrey's culinary skills and his dedication to simple, honest and beautiful food!

Absolutely fantastic grub and atmosphere. New owners very hands on, warm and wonderful. Long may it continue!

Single L shaped bare board room with an excellent blown up photo of the Rat Pack in the rear area there was no sign of chavs on my visit - in fact there were no signs of many customers at all. The ambience of the room was quite nice and actually some real ale on offer for fans of that (even if it was the fairly bog standard GKIPA and Pride). My pint of Stella though was pretty warm and flat so I'm not sure what the quality of the ale would be like.

Better than some in the area but still nothing special.

Not been in this pub for close to two years.

Found the staff to be excellent and the Guinness was fine. Had a pretty mixed clientle with no sign of any 'chavs' unless I missed them.

A bland pub with average beer. Disgusting toilet.

Great little pub.... Slow paced but friendly enough staff and locals. Is shut on Sundays (not really persevering are they?)
