A pleasant and rustic pub in an idyllic spot alongside the River Avon, this has an all together more traditional feel than it�s somewhat brasher neighbour and is a great spot to while away a few hours on a sunny afternoon.
There are old flagstones throughout the pub and a mixture of exposed stone walls and plasterwork. There are a couple of bars at the front and a long narrow room up a few steps at the back. The front bar to the right is the larger of the two and is split in to two by a freestanding chimney with an old wood burning stove in. Some of the tables in here were laid up for food, and there were some pleasant coloured pencil drawings of the local scenery on the walls, much of it for sale.
At the rear is a long wood panelled bar and a smallish TV at each end. One of these was off and the other was showing the Grand Prix, but it didn�t seem too intrusive. Various photos of pub events were pinned up above the bar. We didn�t check the menu, but there seemed to be various Sunday lunch options at around the �8 mark. Outside is an extensive terrace alongside the river, much of it covered. There is some more seating immediately outside the pub.
Beers on tap were 6X, Otter Ale and Gem. Ciders were Blackthorn, Thatcher�s Gold and Addlestones.

Regularly walk to this pub along the river with our dog. Local ales and food cooked on site, enormous helpings, their best dish is surely lamb shank served on the bone so that it melts in your mouth. Dog-friendly, friendly staff and, frankly, the clientele are friendly - we usually end up chatting with one of the other groups eating outside on the terrace overlooking the weir. Perfect Sunday afternoons, 10/10.

Great little pub in a lovely location. Sat outside by the river enjoying the early March sunshine, all very civilized.
Good range of beers - Gem, Otter, 6X plus good range of ciders. Only downside is that it does get really busy on summers day with too many local chavs.
Don't let that put you off though it is a cracking pub.

Nice cosy local in the Winter months, great riverside pub in the Summer. Ales on offer usually consist of Otter, Wadworths, London Pride etc (they usually only have 4 pumps) which are all in good condition. Friendly staff who are quick enough and polite - strange how staff in independant pubs are always better than the chain pubs?
Food is always value for money, nothing to fancy just good honest food.
Nice to walk to here along the towpath alongside the river.

Visited on Boxing Day and although there was a strangely rough atmosphere about the place, had a most delicious pint of Otter Ale while sitting out by the river on a crisp winter's day. Four ales on tap in total including Gem (arrgh, the new Courage Best), Wadworths 6X and I think Hobgoblin.

Lovely old-style pub, well worth a visit in the summer when you can sit outside by the river.
