Has this pub changed hands? it didn't have the same friendly atmosphere previously experienced. The food was superb!

When pubs write their own reviews like this, it devalues the whole site. Why would a load of people all come on here on one day and post bland favourable comments and then never post anything again? I was thinking of visiting, but the early comments (the ones by patrons rather than staff and management) are less than favourable.

Having lived in the area since I was 5, the Six Bells offers a very welcoming environment, whether you fancy chips and a pint by the open fire or a delicious three course meal made from local produce in their resturant, you get treated exactly the same....and thats why I love it!! Also Clive the owner is great!!

A real pub as it should be. Fantastic food, good beer and, so unusual nowadays, welcoming staff with personality.

What a lovely pub. Clive and his team did a magnificent job and a more lovely man you will not meet. ( my wife thinks he looks a little like Bruce Willis when he grins) The food and wine were delightful and we were made so welcome we really cannot wait for our next visit.

Absolutely lovely food and we keep going back for more. The friendly staff and in particular the landlord make it a place where you feel most welcome.
The pub and restaurant is typical English with a large choice of menu and wines/beer and is delightful in either summer or winter. Well done to all of you.

We came across this lovely pub quite late one lunchtime. It is easy to miss as you drive by. I think we were about to be told we were too late for lunch but then the chef appeared and said the kitchen was still open. Welcome news! The food was excellent - varied choice and all freshly prepared and cooked. There were several people at the bar who I imagine are regulars and I expect it is probably a good 'local' as well as being a good restaurant.

A good place to stop. You are made very welcome from the start and there is a good range of suprisingly good food on offer. We liked the friendly service and that the landlord found time to come and speak to you about your meal. We will go back again.

We love this pub. The staff are very friendly - always greet you personally which is a lovely touch and always make you feel that you are special. The food is superb, not what you expect from a pub as such - a good menu choice and of a very very high standard. The portions are good but somehow we always find room for the wonderful deserts!
They also have a barn area which we hired for a special birthday party - it worked out really well.
It has a garden for the sunny days and a cosy open fire for those winter nights.
An excellent pub and one that we highly recommend.

Having lived in the area for some years, we have only recently discovered The Six Bells - and what a discovery it is!

Whether you are looking for a few drinks in the evening, with some very friendly locals, or looking for a super meal out, this place will not disappoint.

We have always been made extremely welcome by Clive and his team and would have no hesitation in recommending this venue to anyone that asked.

This is a little oasis of excellent beer, and exceptional food. My personal rating because I know the landlords and staff - the best in the local area. No coaches - you will never get parked!!!!!

Good food, excellent service and selection of wines

Lovely sunny garden and charming venue for a function or party.

Worth booking as it does get busy.

Friendly team.

Good selection of refreshments.

Excellent food, I have never been disappointed with anything I have selected off the menu.

If in the area, well worth visiting and enjoying the traditional environment.

In fact it is worth going out of ones way to visit.

On second thoughts please dont tell friends as I would hate to find the place full

one of the managers is ok, scottish one is rude arrogant and is very rude to his staff, all the staff are older middle aged women, food is ok, but very over priced, good for just a drink or two though

Decent boozer but far too expensive for the type of pub it is
