In response to the previous two reviews, I agree and suspect the Landlady is actually doing a very good job. This may also include getting shot of some social dross ! 7/10 (for pure effort and an okay pub)

What's all this rubbish about this pub being rough...Been going in almost everyday for the past year, the all day breakfast is all a man would ever need to eat, even better when it's served up by the beautiful barmaid Phylis. Table 1 has the best views of the dining area, always some lovely burds to oggle at in from lloyds or the college. Only not giving it a ten out of ten because once they forgot to bring me sausages out with my food.

Good on yer Biker.........Well said......This pub was starting to get better. The food has improved & the staff are always polite.They Always serve a good pint of Guinness !

Four anonymous postings within 6 minutes of each other and it's only been rated by a total of 8 reviewers !! Me thinks something quite dastardly is afoot ? Perhaps it's another case of Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD). When MPD strikes on this site, all number of strange reviews appear and....yes.. you guessed no extra reviewers are recorded above ! I will ask the site administrators to remove said strange reviews but it may take some time as they have to deal with many cases of MPD. However, it's an okay pub in my book.

Not sure what all the slating is about, looked like clean and friendly place to me! Not a big selection of real ales but the GK Abbot was well kept.

Used to spend many a lunchtime afternoon in here when i was studying at the sixth form college across the road, decent enough pub, quiet good pool table and a haven for students and the guys from Lloyds registrars

Took a first trip there on New Years day, not bad, clean, nice pint(s) of Ruddles, cheery young lady behind the bar, interesting characters, no foul language heard and reasonably priced. Haven't eaten there yet.

Could be a lot better......No atmosphere....but good food !
