was in this pub and enjoyed a few pints of Holsten pils, the purpose of my visit was to visit a sauna in the vicinity however to my disgust the condom machine was out of order, so I had to stay for longer than I anticipated. The bar chap who was rather camp but also very friendly was constantly nipping off out the back, wouldn't like to guess what he was up to, meanwhile the visit took a positive turn when alan carr stephen gately and a freddy mercury lookalike turned up for a game of bar billiards. They all had a great time bopping along to I will survive and some scissor sisters tunes.

An excellent, well run and friendly local pub. The beer is always in good condition and, being a family concern, there is always a friendly welcome.
Having lived in Lewes for 60 years, I have seen many changes in landlords, however the present owners are the best yet !!

This place has really turned around in the last year with the coming of the new tenants. It is a family run pub with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Its a shepherd neame pub selling best, seasonal, bishops finger, spitfire and master brew. Theres a pool table, two darts boards, a toads table and live bands every saturday night. Sunday roasts are great and a snip at under six quid. Well worth a visit!

A Shepherd Neame pub meaning it serves Spitfire, an immediate plus point. Second year running I've been in here on Bonfire Night and always get served quickly. Noticed a pool table which is a bonus. Barstaff friendly, atmosphere in Lewes on 5th November is always incredible so it's difficult to judge but this is a welcoming place for non-locals and well worth a quick pint on the way to the main festivities. They sell burgers and stuff from round the side too if you're a bit peckish. Menu looks good and is cheap. Again tho, toilets are very small (2) and cramped and don't seem to get cleaned up which is a bit grim since there are so many people using them on this night.
