As of Feb 2011 pub seems to be closed - shame was a good place to play darts

great London darts venue, good boards, great staff.
Funny tho, that ARRYaRROWS seems to knock everypub but his own, the shithole round the corner...funny that huh?

An avid darts player, I have decided to comment of all the Pubs I have played in recently.

The Board is in reasonable nick, but the throw itself if terrible, more than once I nearly hit someone returning from the loo. I have heard there are Match Boards upstairs though I have no idea what they are like as it was closed off.

Cheap though very uninspiring ale and as has been said previously, the glasses could do with throwing away. Cheer staff, which given the general state of the place is hard to believe.

Another venue which does not inspire a return visit.

Went here has one pint of Strungbow was nearly sick when I see the state of the glass, it looked like it had been washed in the tailet down the pon.

I hadn't been into the Scarborough Arms (or the Scab's as we call it) for about a year till this week. Wow what an improvement, it looks great, the food is amazing (biggest portions I've seen in any pub) and a great pint. Above all it's a nice place, great atmosphere - very friendly. The old bar maids are back and remember everyone and the new manager is a great laughop man and seems to have turned the place around and back to it's best. I'll be back without a doubt

What a find ! A great little pub - you can sit outside - food is a bargain and the portions are massive. A friendly pub with a good range. Worth finding as it's a little off the beaten track.

Very friendly staff and you can drink outside in the summer as the street is very quiet. Apart from that nothing special.

Better after new management. Usual bar lasses setting the service standard. Food a bargain.

They had London Pride and GKIPA on, plus a third handpump that was not in use. The Pride was OK. I was in there for lunch during the week, and although they didnt have a printed menu, there was a chalkboard on the wall offering a few hot meals (sausage & mash; burger & chips; scampi & chips; ham, egg & chips) all at 3.95. I had a pint of Pride and a ham sandwich with chips that came to a total of 6.20. This all seems pretty reasonably priced to me. The chips were good but the ham in my sandwich was rubbish you get what you pay for I suppose.

This is another single-room pub with an island bar indicating that it was probably a multi-room venue in previous years. Carpeted throughout, with fairly nondescript dcor, I found this a friendly and welcoming pub on a bitterly cold weekday February lunchtime. It was doing a reasonable trade, with what seemed to be mostly regulars. The dartboard was in constant use all the time I was in there. I think that I would describe this pub as unpretentious nothing wrong with that. I would go back if I was in the area again.

Great pub - open again and with great beer, good value food and an amazing upstairs area

I am delighted to find that the pub has now re-opened under new management and that the bar staff, Sue and Tracy, who are absolute gems, are back.

Unfortunately, the pub had a manager who was not capable of running it and trade had, not surprisingly, dwindled despite the efforts of the staff who had been the mainstays for many years.

I understand that the new governors are a refreshing change and I am sure that the quality of beer and food, which I had enjoyed for some years, will continue

Good darts pub. Dedicated area downstairs, with upstairs also available for darts on some match nights. Good beer.

A little scruffy on the outside but has good wholesome food in large portions, ok beer, service was a little brusque but the arrangement of benches outside means there is nearly always one in the sun. Probably a good local in the evenings.

Great pub, friendly atmosphere, fast service from Sue, Tracey & Vita - upstairs is air-conditioned with MTV - I wish it was my local ! Blimey I'm getting thirsty again !

Good beer, friendly staff, darts, decent grub. Do you need to know anything else?
ChrisF - 17 Jul 2006 14:03
It's probably stretching things a bit to call it a hidden gem but I'm glad that Sue and Tracy are still there to keep the Scabs going. This place has certainly had some interesting characters running it over the years.

Very friendly pub - Barmaids Sue & Tracey make you feel very welcome. Food is very good and reasonable price with seating outside and terrace upstairs (for during the warmer days!)Pool table/jukebox/quiz machine/fruit machine. A hidden gem!

Used to be a regular haunt for the local wino's.

The comments from Stella Steve are out of date, as the management changed at the start of 2004. Not sure about Rex's comments, as the two barmaids (Sue and Tracy) are very efficient. It can get a bit crowded for example on Friday lunchtimes and if there's a darts team or two in the pub. Choice of beer is very limited, and Punch Taverns don't give the landlords much option to change, which is a shame. Good atmosphere though.
